Jesus also says, "18 No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him. ( John 1:18 )

And we know that not only Moses, but the whole community of Israel that accompanied Moses and also Abraham even walked and talked with God.

But they didn’t see God in His fullness. All they saw was what God permitted them to see.

Exodus 33:18 Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” 19 And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Sooooo…, I don’t think Jesus meant seeing with eyes of flesh. I believe Jesus meant seeing with the fullness of knowledge that can only come from knowing someone intimately. For example, Scripture says elsewhere:

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 Corinthians 2:11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

What do you think?
