This is probably very true, and is it not one of the beauties of the scripture …making us wondering …and wanting to wade in deeper …There is something in the passage not readily apparent;
.
One of the passages that had escaped attention before , with regard to this , is in Gospel of John - 1 .7 - about The Baptist - ’ he came to testify to the light , so that ALL ( emphasis added ) might believe through him’ .Now, for someone who was beheaded shortly afterwards , that seems 'strange ’ at first glance …
Could this be to point to the great importance of our Lord’s Baptism ( Theophany ) , may be the one mission that was the central part of the life of The Baptist …for which he was prepared from the womb …and as prefigured in Joshua leading all Israelites through Jordan, into the promised land …
Yet, there is that word ALL … and what John saw , is it not the manifestation of the eternal reality of the descent ( or ongoing outpouring ) of The Spirit , on The Son and through Him, into ALL who were to be believers …
Wondering too if this could be of help for those who struggle with the concept of how 'all ’ graces flow through The Woman …The One who recieved The Spirit , on behalf of all…from the greatness and goodness of a God who wants to share the mission and its glory , with His Mother …with His cousin …and each of us too …
Peace !
