Is Kabbalah part of Judaism?

I don’t know anything about Kabbalah, but my friend told me that Kabbalah is the foundation of all Religions. I told her that I don’t anything about Kabbalah, but all I know is that Judaism started with Abraham and his descendents and there were 12 tribes in Judaism. Can someone explain further about what is Kabbalah and what role it plays in Judaism?
