Is love above faith?

****God is love (1 John 4:8). Therefore, to have faith in God is to have faith in God’s unconditional love which enabled Him to offer His life as a sacrifice for those who hurt Him and were unfaithful to Him. To have faith in His love does not mean that we merely know that He died for our sins (because even the devil knows that), but to put His love into practice; because, James (James 2:26) tell us that faith without works is dead faith. Furthermore, the scriptures tell us that love is above faith (1 Corinthians 13:2); love brings forgiveness of sins (1 Peter 4:8; Luke 7:47); acts of love are necessary in order to enter heaven (Matthew 25: 33-35); and forgive others in order to receive forgiveness (Luke 6:37). ****

Love is eternal, faith lasts until He Who Is Love is seen; so, yes. 🙂
 
Faith Hope, and Love abide but the greatest of these is Love!

After the Final juidgement there will be no more need of faith or hope but love will remain!

Yes.​

IMNSHO, faith & hope “pass away” by being perfected into love - ISTM that (in Scholastic terminology) they are “potential parts” of love. When we see God face to face, when we know as we are known, they will have done what they are meant to to do. Whereas love will remain - for they are given us that we might love God Who loved us. We have them now, already, because eternal life begins now, already.

Another reason for St. Paul’s insistence the primacy of love is the context of 1 Corinthians. The Corinthian Christians were priding themselves on their spiritual gifts; they were also divided into factions (Nothing new there then :o 🙂 !). St. Paul shows that love is the greatest of spiriritual gifts - & he also implies that love is the solution to their party-mindedness. 🙂
 
Yes, because love is the reason why a person has faith. If not of God’s love for man, He would not have sent his only begotten son. True faith is the result of love.
 
1 Cor 13

“If I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love I have nothing… So faith, hope, and love abide, these three, but the greatest is love.”

As you have just said God is love. If you do not have love than you don’t have God and your faith is nothing without love. Love is the key. After all what were the two greatest Commandment that Jesus gave us about? They were not about faith but about love.
  1. Love the Lord your God with all your mind, all your heart, and all your strength.
  2. And to love your neighor as your self.
