Is lying always wrong and sinful?

All they do is betray their children by making themselves untrustworthy, out of laziness or a desire to not be honest. Instead of being the bulwark they ought to be.

Hold on, I asked a question and I’d like an answer because I want to better understand you. You asked, don’t I know I’m supposed to be nice. I asked where God teaches me that.
The reason I asked is related to our initial exchange, about why it’s rude ( or not) to be honest (it had to do with telling someone they weren’t invited to a party or something). Why should I regard someone taking offense at honesty. I’m not saying I should not…I want to know why you think I should, at which point you delved into being “nice”. We got into the topic of human respect and such, and I am under the impression that you are suggesting that I should always be nice, or take human opinion/respect into account, regardless of truth…as though that equals “love”.

So…where does God tell me to be nice?

I didnt say that people should be nice all the time. You dont have to be nice if someone is hitting you or is being rude. Some bad things might happen if you tell a lie like if you say that some money is yours when you saw someone drop it. That would be wrong. But if a woman says do you think my baby is beautiful then nothing bad is going to happen.

Some one in another post said that Jesus said that we are to love our neighbour as ourself (he said that Jesus said it first but he didnt). And thats the golden rule which means that if you dont like someone doing something to you then you shouldnt do it to someone else. So i bet if you had a baby and someone said no its not beautiful its ugly then youd be upset. If your not old enough to have a baby then ask your mother and shell tell you.

So thats being nice. And Jesus told us to do that. But if you dont want to then thats up to you.
