Well lets start off with Jesus talking about the parable of the wine skins. Old wine skins bursts the old. Remember. Yep seems our Lord knew what he was talking about.

Passover was in the spring grape harvest was in the fall. Good luck on find a refrigerator etc. Ask Mr Welsh he will explain it.

There was no such thing as grape juice until about 150 years ago thanks to Mr Welch and his grape juice.

Until that all communion was pure wine.

Guess the Apostles got it wrong too huh? And the Jews also? Don’t think so.

The Establishment of Jesus’ Kingdom and Royal Court

Let’s begin by establishing a scriptural basis for accepting Jesus as King.

Luke 1:31–33
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.

Jesus inherits David’s throne, and Mary becomes Queen Mother. Support for the principle of the Queen Mother in the House of David is found clearly in the following passages:

1 Kings 2:19
When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king’s mother, and she sat down at his right hand.

Since Solomon had MANY wives, none of them would be queen. In fact, it was his mother that sat on the throne. This idea is also evident in the book of Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 13:18
18 Say to the king and to the queen mother, “Come down from your thrones, for your glorious crowns will fall from your heads.”

From these two passages, we can see that the mother of the king held the title of Queen in the Davidic kingdom. We also know that Mary is the Queen of Heaven from the following:

Revelation 12:1-2
1A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

Since the writer goes on to say that the woman gave birth to a son who would rule the nations, we can conclude that the woman wearing the crown in heaven is the Mother of Jesus, Mary.

Let’s not be so hasty.

Did that HAVE to be Mary?

I know of a good brother who feels wine more often was not alcohol(thinks to many of us abuse alcohol, and he is right) Do they have more than one growing season a year( I think California does, southern that is which has mediteranean climate ? There are variations of alcohol content to depending upon age.But i am with you in thinking Jesus and disciples may have drunk alcohol.

Grape juice can’t make your drunk, so the accusations made about Jesus being a drunkard would not only have been petty, but physically impossible if what he drank was unfermented juice.

You have to look at the time and place and date you are talking about. Of course today with modern science, refrigeration etc thing’s can be done.

But we are not talking about California at the time of Jesus, we are talking a completely different country and when harvest season was there.

This made me think of something else also. Remember in the bible they said most people serve the good first and as the day goes on the cheap. Well not those exact words.

Anyway it would make sense to serve the good wine first, once people get a buzz switch to the cheaper stuff.

But Jesus served the fine wine.

Personally I could not think of ANYONE drinking grape juice all day and wanting more. That in itself makes no sense.

Another bit of proof if it is needed is at Pentecost. When the Holy Spirit came into the hearts of the Apostles they were speaking in different languages.

Remember what the crowd said they had too much new wine. That is another proof the Apostles drank wine the good wine. I have never heard anyone say ah that person had too much juice. Unless they went to the bathroom of course

Why does it matter that it was harvest season? Without refrigeration or other proper preservation, all-natural grape juice begins to ferment in a matter of a day, not a season. Heck, even today, the use-by date on the juice cartons are not the date the juice is likely to go bad, but the date it is likely to start fermenting, even if kept in the fridge.
