P.S. (There are other books like Flatland, by the way. I have Sphereland too. There are movies based on both, but I haven’t seen them yet. And there are The Annotated Flatland, Flatterland (“Like Flatland, Only More So”), Spaceland… Looks like lots of fun. 😁)

Then just today, my husband put on a video of Geddy Lee telling about the Holocaust, about how his parents survived Auschwitz. I told him that’s zikaron, & that anamnesis, which is in “Do this in remembrance of me”, is the Greek for zikaron. (Jews have a thing called “Zikaron Basalon”, “Memory in the Living Room”, where people get together in living rms to memorialize the Holocaust.) This thread is about the zikaron/anamnesis in the Mass & Liturgy. In my catechesis, I was told in the Liturgy heaven & earth meet. So then & there, time is folded back to the Crucifixion, heaven condescends to earth, & earth rises to heaven.

P.P.S. Heaven & earth meet more clearly on Holy Sat. at the Holy Sepulchre, b/c the Holy Fire comes down from heaven and people wash their faces in it. Same fire in the River of Fire (Dn 7:10). In 3 & 2 Enoch the Holy Angels wash their faces in the same Fire that burns the damned (chapters 36 & 10 respectively).

St Seraphim of Sarov, & the nuns at the monastery he governed, lived transcending time & place.

There were various obediences in the monastery…Pashenka was sent to the water pump. The nun joyously took off and ran; nuns are generally simple folk.…Suddenly the pump stopped; if she did not take care of it there would be no water, and that is breaking obedience, which is terrible. So she set about praying. All the Diveyevo nuns are that way. It is an unbelievable simplicity. She plunged into prayer to St. Seraphim.…Then St. Seraphim himself came to her, and she talked with him as if he were alive; that is, they talked just as normally and naturally.…They lived on the boundary of two worlds, and they themselves never even felt that boundary. Matushka [familiar title for the abbess, or a priest’s wife] was that way to the very end.…Apparently there were many such incidents. It was impossible to tell them all.
Once she was breaking ice, also on obedience, perhaps on some monastery path, or in the canal. [The Theotokos had appeared to him & walked w/ him on a path around the monastery. She commanded that a holy moat (the Kanavka) be dug there—illustrated below—& said the Antichrist will not be able to cross it.]…“I was exhausted,” she said. Then the Saint again appeared and stood next to her. “I’ll help you,”…

The saint was constantly with them. If something happened, he was right there. When Matushka was living with us, she would sit in front of the icon of St. Seraphim saying: “Papa, you know that we need some oranges.” Then by evening someone would bring oranges, or some other thing. Just as we talk with one another, so did she talk with St. Seraphim.
Sorry about blurriness. Heaven & earth meeting: (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) Google site search on Orthochristian for “Diveyevo” reveals more.

Also Eph. 1:21: Yes, Christ now sits above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in this age, but also in the age to come. 🤯🙂
