Is Matthew 24 Happening Now?

With all the floods, this recent one in American Samoa, the fires on the West Coast that are constant, the wars, the nuclear one that Iran will probably start, the apostasy of the faith. Mothers killing their children, children killing their parents, terrible abductions of kids kept for years, etc…the list just goes on and on.
Does anyone truly believe that we are in the End times? I watched Nostradamus the other night, and he sees into the year 3000. I wouldn’t take him over my Lord’s words that say “not even the Father knows when the end is”.
The world certainly is getting Godless today. What are your views?
 
It’s been the end times since Jesus’ Death and Resurrection. And the end times will end when Jesus comes again.

The question is do you think the end is near? Matt 24 is happening now. More so than ever before.

I know what you mean, but then again every generation has thought of theirs as being in the end times. The Apostles did!😃

How can God the Father, creator of all things visible and invisible, not know when the end of the world will come?

Wont He be the one that calls time on it? :confused:

Can you quote the relevant scripture passage where The Lord says ‘‘not even the Father knows when the end is’’.

I guessed what she quoted was wrong.

Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

The Son doesn’t even know, but the Father does.👍

How did Guy mess it up? You said the Father does not know and the verse cited shows He does.
 
When you read the Olivette discourse, what must be noted that Jesus talks about all of the signs happening, together. We have always had wars, plagues, earthquakes, floods, signs in the Heavens (comets and such). But now we are having them happen all at the same time. And they are becoming more and more frequent.

And all this is happening during a time when the Gospel is being preached to the whole world.Preached in person, by Bibles, by TV, radio, Internet, twitter, mobile phone, it cannot be stopped.

This too is a key to understanding the times.

No one knows the exact time, but clearly we were given full warnings of the signs that will be in place. A wise preacher said that the timing was also, in part, up to man. Man had to fulfill the Great Commission first, then the end( of the age) shall come. However long it took us. When the message of Jesus could be heard by anyone who so chose to hear.

And like labor pains, the events are speeding up as the birth comes closer.

This is the one area where it really should matter not, IMHO, whether you are whatever Christian, whatever tribulation belief, because it will be played out according to God’s Plan and He will tell His Son to open the Door.

Imagine the apostles as they were told all this. How could they" see ’ all these things come to pass? How could they know of earthquakes on the other side of the world? But they could understand the days of noah. Warnings given, all ignored but by a few.

We each should live our lives as if the moment will happen in the next minute, while living as if it will not come at all while we live. In other words, enjoy life, love God, be right with Him, and always look to His Coming. Whether you expect the Trump to sound and be snatched up, in a twinkling of an eye, or whether you look to see Him come thundering in on a white horse in the clouds, whether you expect to not to endure a horrible 7 years, or whether you think that will not occur, we can all agree that there will be a Second Coming.

I truely believe it is close. Because Israel was made a nation in one day in may 1948.

No one knows.

One good way to know is to listen to those predicting the end. You will then know when it is not.

Let me tell, having visited with my JW friends over the last twenty years…the end is UPON US. And maybe it is…And maybe it isn’t…🤷
 
It could be I suppose. I don’t really worry about. As a seminary student I sort of hope I have time to ‘make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’ before that time, but it’s not up to me anyway. 🙂 Our Lord will come when we comes.

Out of curiosity, what is the Catholic position on tribulation issues?

I’ve had evangelicals talk at me about all kinds of theories in the past; to be honest, I’m not even sure I know my own church’s position. Guess I should find out. 🤷
 
Earthquakes and tsunami and volcano erruptions always happened, but up until the past few decades you weren’t able to push a button on the remote control and watch it right as it happened! 🤷
