Is Muslim-chic the latest fad in Catholic school?

This is really a curiosity question, but is Muslim-chic a growing fad among high schoolers? This, among other things, is happening in my son’s high school, which we will be pulling him from for a variety of reasons.
 
I’m not sure what that phrase means. Are you saying that children who aren’t Muslim are dressing in Muslim clothes? I would think that would be considered a little disrespectful to actual Muslim people, since certain aspects of their clothing/head dresses represent important aspects of their faith. On the other hand, as more middle eastern people come to our country, certain styles and patterns of clothing might become popular or seen as exotic. I would just be careful about wearing something specific to their faith. I’m kind of guessing at what you mean by Muslim-chic though.
 
No, they wear their uniforms, but they are using Muslim language, hand gestures and idioms and saying that Mohammad was a Christian prophet (in theology class).

Sorry. It’s the students and for the life of me, DH, school staff, I have no idea.
 
In my son’s Catholic school, they are using Muslim phrases and gestures.
 
I suggest that those who are curious ask them. They are obviously trying to communicate something this way. If I was teaching this class, I’m pretty sure I would ask! What are Muslim gestures? Are they praying toward Mecca or something?
 
They are hand gestures apparently used by ISIS meaning Allah is the one true God and Mohammad is his prophet.
 
And no one has asked them why they are doing this? How many kids are we talking about?
 
My husband tried asking the admin, and they didn’t have a clue. It’s about 30 or so kids, one of them being the girl that is obsessed with my son.
 
They didn’t have a clue that it was going on, or they didn’t have a clue what it meant. How do you know this is what the gesture means? Is this what the kids say it means? I thought you said that these kids were accusing your son of being an Islamic terrorist. Is it possible that they are making these gestures to bully him? That would be my guess, but if I was the teacher or administrator, I would ask the what they mean by it and expect a response that made sense.
 
I am not sure they knew it was going on or why. The hand gestures they made were ISIS ones…usually used before a terrorist attack, and the same goes for the phrases. I think my husband was trying to hold his cards close to him in order to see what the admin would suggest…is this was bullying or worse…harassment and defamation of character.
 
Would one of the phrases be “Allahu Akbar”? Sounds like general teenage jerkholeryly.

And are the kids doing it into black humor over all?
 
Are they making these gestures all the time or only toward your son? It’s sounds pretty obvious to me that this is bullying. I’m starting to wonder if this thread even started as an honest question.
 
This group does it among themselves. My son is called a jihadist by them. It’s used as a good-bye under friendly terms. My son gets an eff off you terrorist.
 
All the time? Well, let’s say when they pass each other in the hallway, before or after class starts.
 
Yes, that is one of them. There is a longer one I forget.

And no, the girl doing it was…or I was told…orthodox Catholic. Now she, her brother and their posse do it.
