Is my Baptisim valid?

When my brother and I were born, we were both 2 months premature. There was a time when we were expected not to do so well, so the hospital that I was born at, Saint Martha’s in Antigonish has Nuns in the Hospital, as well as a Convanent across the road from it. Thus, in my poor condition and with Doctors not knowing if Michael and I would live, we were Baptised by a sister, is my Baptisim Valid? I have never really thought about it before but I thought I should ask.

Dear Colin,

Yes, your baptism is valid. It would be valid even if you were baptized by an atheist nurse–as sometimes happens. Because of the importanace of this sacrament, the Church bends way over on this one for the benefit of the person to be baptized.
