All glory be to the FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!
My dearest of husbands (who is much cleverer than I!?
), rummaged through a lot of earlier VHS tapes we have, remembering that of course we videoed our daughter’s baptism and lo and behold, those wonderful words came out ‘I baptise you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’, loud and clear!
Please forgive me for all my rantings and ravings, but I do so need to understand CLEARLY, some of the legalisms of the Church if I call myself a Catholic. What conclusion I have come to? - one of the responses was quite clear: Form, Matter and Intent have all to be present to make it a valid sacrament in the eyes of the Church. This seems pretty clear cut to me …except when I noticed another thread on the subject of valid confessions…I quickly shut it off…and on the eucharist… I’ll leave this to the ones who do get it more clearly than me! Thanks everyone, appreciated your efforts. Clearly though, it is unfinished for many others.
