Is necessary to confess ...?

It was a long while that I didn’t confess or go to church, fast for Ash Wednesday, etc.
In fact I guess I never did it, only confession and receive communion.
But I only confessed that it was a long time since the last time I went to church (not sunday). It was necessary to confess all the other obligations or it is yet understood that I didn’t do them neither.

Generally you only need to confess mortal sins. You really should go to church every Sunday

Perhaps the confessor understood that you haven’t been meeting with the other obilgations.
I would recommend you bring this up at your next confession. And for your soul’s sake do attend Mass every Sunday as you are able to.

I believe that if you intended to confess a sin, but forgot, while in the confessinal, those sins were forgiven as well. But, if your heart and your mind are in conflict, go back and confess with your lips the sin that is causing you disharmony.

I read a great book by Peter Kreft called Catholic Christianity and Peter talks about how the confessional is the second most hated place of the devil, and the Eucharist is the most hated place…the reason is because even the devil knows that Jesus is really present in those Sacraments and we receive healing as a result of participating…Praise God for loving us so much!
 
When it came to tell the item (I had a list written) of fasting, I was about to tell it, but I only told I didn’t know if I fast one hour before communion, I don’t know why I didn’t tell about fasting in lent, I don’t know if I knew it was mortal or venial I guess, I guess I’m not sure even now. I am being scrupulous? I need to remake all the confession. Were my other sins forgiven?
 
Any sin that you confesses is forgiven. Any sin that you forgot to confess but want to be forgiven is. The only sins that aren’t forgiven are the ones you are consious of and with held. The ones you know about but didn’t say anything

As long as you had the intent to confess all mortal sins, all of your sins are forgiven in confession. If you later remember an unconfessed mortal sin, confess it the next time you go to confession. The only way that your confession would be invalid would be if you intentionally withheld a mortal sin. That said, if you forgot a mortal sin in confession, your sins are still forgiven. 🙂
 
But I think I was conscious of that sin but I didn’t tell it I don’t know why. I don’t know if I knew it was mortal. I had no intention of withholding any sin though. I don’t know why, in the confussion of the moment I didn’t say that particular sin: that I didn’t fast in lent. But, I remember I decided not to confess, I guess, sins corresponding to Church Commandments, since I thought, it was unnecesary since I told the priest I didn’t go to church since a long time. It is as if I wasn’t a Catholic for a long time. I suppose. But since I didn’t had the intention of withholding any sin I suppose my confession is still valid. Is that OK?

It sounds valid to me. I would ask your priest about fasting. I have no idea if you breaking your fast is mortal or not. He could give you better guidance. 🙂
 
In other words: I was about to tell it but decided to tell other sin, because I was mentally convinced that it was more important to tell the fast before communion than tell the fast in lent, that was obviously violated since I was a non practicing Catholic for long time. And the communion fast was violated very recently. I had a long list of sins so I had to choose what to say to make it shorter. In addition I don’t know if I knew it was mortal. In addition, I didn’t observe fasting because I didn’t know it was a Commandment. In my country is tradition observe fast only Good Friday. I hope that makes my confession valid. I hope I’m being scrupulous.

Thanks, that gives me peace of mind. I am being a hell of scruples.
 
Yes you should confess all mortal sins in number and kind (and that which changes the kind).

Mortal sin is grave matter done with full knowledge and complete consent.

Examine your conscience and get with a Priest and tell him what happened in the past (what you note above)…he can guide you.
 
In addition if one is struggle also with scruples --have a “regular confessor” who can help you.

Deliberately concealing a mortal sin invalidates the entire confession and the absolution given for the sins that were confessed.
