Is "no tears in Heaven" meant to be taken literally?

I understand the idea of no sadness in Heaven, since Heaven is obviously the place of pure happiness and joy, but I imagine people would weep – or at least want to weep – tears of joy when they first enter Heaven or see a long-lost loved one again. Because of that, I’m wondering if “no tears in Heaven” is meant to be taken in the most literal, extreme context or not.
 
I don’t. I see Heaven as a place for Love. When we truly are who we were meant to be from the start. So tears for self-pity don’t have a place there, but tears to try and convince God on this and that issue for someone(s) we truly love I am sure there are.
If the tears are pure, as in pure love for others, I think God will listen and allow them. And maybe fulfill that need that makes us weep…
 
It means no one in Heaven is sad or troubled. We can of course cry happy tears, if God gives us the mechanism to do that.

After the resurrection we will be reunited with our bodies, so as we have tear ducts now, I would think we’d have them then in our glorified bodies.

That passage I understand to mean as others have said - so sorrow.

But whether we’d cry tears of joy in heaven, I don’t know, but I guess it is possible.
 
If your in heaven you are at peace and love and your family is there with you and your friends
