Is not going to mass on sunday is a grave matter; making it a mortal sin when you know you have to go and you don’t go for no reason or is it just a venial sin?
The Catechism of the Catholic Church in #2180 states that the faithful are bound to participate in Mass on Sundays and other holy days of obligation. In # 2181 it states: “those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit grave sin.” “Grave sin” here means mortal sin.
