Is not the Vigil Mass an Easter Mass?

Each year my friend states that we must attend Easter Sunday Mass even though we have attended the Vigil Mass. I am of the opinion that the Vigil Mass is the Easter Mass and there is no need to attend on Sunday morning as well. Who is correct about this. djoyce

You are correct and your friend is misinformed. The Easter Vigil Mass is an Easter Mass. What else could it be?
