I didn’t know about that…but I did about the actual meeting of the papryus paper that somehow made it overseas…it was indeed hieroglyphics…but was instructions in how to mummify the dead.

I mean, there has been alot taught over the years since the beginning of Mormonism, and the Catholic Church exhorts us by the Apostles, ‘to write it down!’.

So of the Catholic Church decides to go in the direction of Mormonism, it is going to scan all the minutae of Mormon beliefs going all the way back to its beginning…alot to investigate and ponder.

Theosis is an area of obvious intersectionality between Mormonism and classic catholic thought. As far as Divine Feminine, I believe as follows, briefly. We’re living in an age where society has been forced to confront misogyny and the changing roles of women. As women have made advances, we’ve been forced to confront theologies which either enshrine or promote misogyny as a religious ideal. Looking at the role of Mary, the Blessed Mother of God and Theotokos, as well as the role of female saints, such as Brigit, Julian of Norwich, Hildegarde, the desert virgins, and other women leaders in the early church, and how these intersect with Feminine conceptions of God in Scripture, such as Shechina and Sophia, lead us into new possibilities and horizons. The Re-Imaging conference of mainstream Christian feminist scholars and leaders in 1993 is a great example of this reawakening of the Holy Spirit in the area of exploring the Motherhood of God and Jesus.

Women saints go way back. Ss Catherine of Siena who lived in the 1300’s was most extraordinary, and St. Teresa of Avila, who lived awhile later, made spirituality of prayer and spiritual knowledge have such depth, that today even Carmelite priests look up to her and her daughters today as their stronger partners in prayer.

The Church has long seen Mary, the Mother of Jesus as Model Par Excellence and has known her intercessory prayers going back to ancient times.

The Carmelite tradition sees the little cloud that rose from the sea that grew and finally drenched the lands long barren by lack of faith, this going back to Ezekiel…Mary’s little hand, Mary, full of grace, Star of the Sea.

Mary is the most powerful woman that has ever lived. Is it true that Mormon women are discouraged by studying more on Mary??

Theosis, where at baptism and living out the sacramental life, we experience eternal life in the Lord. We participate, we partake in this eternal life given us today, but we are not gods and never will be.

Becoming a god, or exaltation is Mormon thought. And Mormonism is discovering the Early Church Fathers in the past 20 years as its Church is most intensely drawn to the Catholic Church, but remains separate. It is interpreting our ancient beliefs to make them fit their understanding of exaltation but such usage does not work because we will never become gods.

And if one commits a mortal sin, one can no longer communicate the sacrament, unless one has gone to sacramental confession.

Theosis is Trinitarian and nothing else.

The primary vocation of a Catholic/Orthodox is communion with the Holy Trinity which is theosis and Mormons are not trinitarian.

It is better to find another belief to justify Mormons’ progression than Theosis because the two belief systems contradict each other.
