Is Orthodoxy the answer to the “spirit of vatican II” and the vocation shortage?

Am I witnessing the return of the Church my grandparents were lucky enough to have?

I personally hope so (with a few modifications, of course). But it is His Will that we need to seek. His Holy Spirit needs to guide the Church and we need to obey and love, IMHO.

Perhaps it would be better to call it a New orthodoxy. There were parts of the Catholicism of my grandparents that I would not wish on anybody.

I hope so! I’ve heard my husband’s mom joke and call him his grandmother’s name because he is so conservative that he reminds her of her mom.

I believe it is the answer. I hope this new English translation will help to ensure orthodoxy in the liturgy.

I’m still afraid that the Latin Mass will be suppressed and kept hidden though. Hopefully I am completely wrong.

Judging by the number of people who are already shrieking about the new translation, I’d say the Bishops are doing something right. It’s not even out and already articles a predicting what a disaster it will be. Why are people so afraid of the percieved orthodoxy of the new translation? It’s only stating in more dignified labguage what’s already there in the latin text of the mass.
