Is Our Lady of Clear Creek a good Benedictine abbey?

We may not entirely agree on what might be problematic. But, as I said before—that is why there are different expressions of religious life—and perhaps why neither you nor I are responsible for making these decisions.

Peace.

I would still trust the judgment of these church authorities, particularly over time (Clear Creek has existed a very short time, while many Benedictine monasteries in the US have been in place for over well over a century) over essentially anonymous people on an internet site, when trying to determine the “goodness” of a religious congregation. That is my only point.
There have been weeds among the wheat since the beginning. An aware and prudent person would do well to look and listen very, very carefully before leaping to harmful presumptions. All is not always as it seems, or as it ought to be. Do the words “Cardinal Theodore Edgar McCarrick, laicized American former cardinal and bishop of the Catholic Church,” mean anything to you?

Of course. And does the name of Fr. Marcial Maciel (founder of the Legionaries of Christ) mean anything, too? Look. I’m done. This is clearly going nowhere, and has hijacked the original purpose of this thread. I think we’ve all spent enough time and energy on this.

I was wondering if they are a good foundation of Benedictine monks, now I have questions such as, what is the youngest age you can join at, mainly saying what is the age you can join at, are they very isolated? Do they use internet such as modern orders do? How much does it cost to join if it has a price and how can I join?
I personally know two guys who discerned the religious life at Clear Creek. Both enjoyed their time at the abbey very much!

Also, here is a link to their website with info on becoming a monk at Clear Creek.
