Pope John Paul II certainly felt that Our Lady of Fatima was sill relevant in modernity. In fact, he attributed his miraculous survival of the assassination attempt directly to intervention by Our Lady of Fatima. He placed the very bullet which pierced his flesh in the church there, where it is held to this very day.

As an aside, I have always found it interesting that Our Lady appeared in a place named after a daughter of the Prophet Mohammed…Fatima. Islam holds Mother Mary in very high regard, and she is mentioned often in the Qur’an. Interesting intersection.

Yes, it’s very interesting and significant … Note also Our lady’s appearance at Ciaro (acco,panied by a miracle). I think Our Lady has a wonderful surprise up her sleeve for the Moslems. Sincere apologies for giving the wrong impression. It is all in Socci (4th Secret), the Devil’s final battle, and also The Great Facade (Ferrara & Woods). The Fatima messages will always be relevent as long as communism exists on the face of the earth in no matter what form it takes. *It is a unique devotion that few are called to fulfill but the need to fulfill it is important nevertheless. *Russia continues to spread her errors throughout the world causing wars and persecution of the Church. The Collegial Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was accepted by the Lord in 1984. Some say that this was not an exact consecration as requested, which is true, but there is nothing to say that the Lord did not partially accept the good intentions of the Holy Father and bishops who participated in it. The Bible is filled with the partial granting of requests by God to the faithful. God prefers Mercy over punishment.

Sr Lucy did say that it was paritlaly accepted. John Paul II himself admitted it was not what Our Lady had reqested. Departing from the text, he said,"We wish to [place before you] “particularly those nations who are especially awaiting your Consecration”.

I agree that atheism is the major backbone of the errors. I want to continue a little bit to try to persuade Dempsey of the reasonableness of our Lady’s singular inclination for the Consecration of Her Immaculate Heart to that one country.

I think this is a key point. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were both German and both resided in the UK; these were the fathers of Communism. Although Communism began in the minds of Germans living in the UK, both Germany and the UK rejected Communism as a political system. As you stated, Russia was the first nation, which adopted Marxist Communism; the Russians then spread this evil philosophy around the world; surely this is what the Blessed Mother meant when she said that Russia would spread her errors? It is worth noting that Russians spread Communism to East Germany; the Russians took the philosophy of Marx back to Germany. It is clear that the Russians are solely responsible for the promotion of communism throughout the world; this is why communism could be called a “Russian” error, even though Marx was German.

In addition, Fr. Martin in a taped interview with Bernard Janzen said that that agents for the Vatican had “published forged letters” in Sr. Lucia’s name and “put statements on her lips she never made.” And when asked who the people were who were involved with suppressing Fatima, he said they were a “whole bunch” of prelates in Rome that “belong to Satan.”

In his last book, Fr. Martin clearly suggested that Cardinal Cassaroli and his “successor” had bad intentions with regard to Fatima, and he said that Cardinal Cassaroli maneuvered to “block major initiatives in favor of Fatima” by Pope JPII.

Why has the Church taken measures to stop Father Gruner? What wrong does he teach to provoke this reaction from certain Churchmen?

I have read Fr Gruner’s website and I found nothing that could be classed as heresy. Father Gruner is promoting his personal views on the Fatima message; although his version of the story differs from the one that is promoted by the Church, I do not understand why the Church would try to silence him; after all, Fatima is a private revelation, and we are all allowed to have our own opinions about it. Father Gruner is permitted to have his own personal views on the Fatima message, and I think he should be allowed to promote this message because I believe in free speech. The Vatican has an “official” interpretation of Fatima; an interpretation that is accepted and rejected by many people. Father Gruner is not the only person who disagrees with the Vatican’s interpretation of Fatima. Why, then, does the Vatican target Father Gruner, and ignore many others who hold similar views on Fatima?

Two of my (grown-up) children were at this event. To recall the reason: Hindu priests took part in their pagan rituals: actual worship of their false gods, with all the trappings of their religion – not just “dialogue” – by invitation of the Shrine Authorities, on the Altar of God, in the very place where Our Lady appeared at Fatima and said “Do not offend my Son any more. He is already too greatly offended.” By the Church’s own laws (not tenth Century but twenty-first century laws) this act of desecration calls for the exorcism and re-dedication of the Church. The Shrine officials at first denied that this Hindu ritual ever took place; then when photos were posted on the web they admitted it, but still did not apologise. A very large assembly of devout, well-behaved Catholics from all over the world assembled for the Act of Reparation, led by the SSPX bishops.

Xxxx & Xxxx are back from the Pilgrimage of Reparation in Fatima. Many tales to tell. The Trads were not allowed to offer Holy Mass in the Basilica or Chapel, of course - Hindu rites yes, trads no - but on Monday 22 August - Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - a large Rosary Procession entered the Main Basilica for a Solemn Act of Consecration of Russia by the 4 SSPX Bishops, and other prayers of reparation. They had formally asked for, and received, permission to do this, many weeks beforehand, but the Shrine Authorities apparently forgot all about this. There was some manhandling of the trad. clergy by the “Guardians of the Shrine” who also put on extremely loud modern religious music the whole time they were there, turning it off after they had gone. It was during this outrage that Bp. Fellay had carried out the Act of Reparation, followed by an Act of Consecration of Russia. The four SSPX bishops knelt and led the prayers. It was my own daughter who had dashed over, vaulted the rope and pleaded with them to turn the “music” down. She was refused, of course (The official said to her, ‘I understand, but they are traditionalists!’), & she was hustled out. A Trad from Northern Ireland commented outside, “Well ye’d’ve thought Our Lady would have performed a wee miracle during the Consecration”.

The Consecration was at 1pm Portugal Time, = 2.00pm Rome time, when the earthquake struck: it was at the exact same moment. I only hope the Pope was paying attention. He most certainly knew of the Act of Reparation.

The Holy Father will be visiting Fatima, May12-14, 2010. Perhaps enlightenment on the subject will be forthcoming. The Chuch is in crisis and Mary is Her Protectress, so we have unfolding circumstances before us which, for some, stir feelings of prayerful hope. Our Lady had manifested Herself on earth at this sight and performed a miracle there. No form of merely human perception can purport a complete understanding of such a cosmic mystery. Pope John Paul II said the Message of Fatima is more important today than it was before the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989. Why?
Because , as Our Lord predicted to Sister Lucia, the consecration of Russia came too late to prevent the whole world from being infected by atheism: " they… will repent and do it, but it will be too late. Russia will have already spread her errors throughtout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church…" ( June 13,1929 ) This is, in fact, why the Holy Father and the Catholic Bishops consecrated the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and not just Russia alone on May 13, 1984.

As a consequence of the Consecration by the Pope and Bishops, the government of Russia has officially returned to the Faith and is working to reestablish Christianity throughtout their country ( they even put up a new Cathedral in Cuba).

1. The Pope and the Bishops have never consecrated Russia by name

In Catholic theology, consecrations always name the specific subject to be consecrated. For example, the person baptised is named in Baptism, and a Church is named when it is blessed. That is how the sacramental order works. It is therefore necessary that Russia be specifically named, when the Pope and bishops of the world consecrate her. The so-called 1984 Consecration of the “world,” did not explicitly name Russia. Thus, it is argued that the Consecration has not yet been done.

1. On the Conversion of Russia to the Catholic Faith

Some Catholics make the ludicrous and blasphemous claim that Russia is now living through the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In contrast, other Catholic writers have put forward strong reasons that throw in serious doubt this nation’s alleged conversion to the Catholic Faith. For example:
The 1997 Russian law on religion grants special rights to: Russian Orthodoxy, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism. In contrast, the Catholic Church is treated like the Mormon and Jehovah’s Witness sects. The Catholic Church is denied the following rights by the Russian law: to teach religion in the public schools; to found her own religious schools; to provide chaplains for prisons, hospitals, and retirement houses; to import and diffuse religious literature; and to be the owner of printing presses and other communications media. In short, this law forbade all Catholic apostolate in Russia.

• “The Catholic Church has no plans of pursuing missionary activities in Russia…The Vatican is not pursuing any proselytism policy *. It has no goal of making Russia a Catholic nation.” Igor Kovalevsky, Executive Secretary of the Russian Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The last point will come as a surprise to most people. Even more surprising will be the fact that this has been the Vatican’s official policy since the pontificate of Pope John XXIII. The Church’s present hierarchy shows little interest in obtaining the conversion of Russia. This is evident in the Vatican’s official policy of practically forbidding evangelisation in Russia:

All Eastern-rite Catholic parishes in Russia are underground, Bishop Yulian Gbur of the Ukrainian Catholic Church said in Lviv, Ukraine, in September 2000. When the Moscow community attempted to register, the bishop maintained, they were told by officials - in line with the 1997 law on religion - that this was impossible without the supporting signature of their Catholic bishop. Since the Eastern-rite Catholic exarchate in Russia is under a Vatican imposed mandate, he said, the hierarch in question is the head of the apostolic administration of European Russia, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz. “He refused to sign,” Bishop Gbur said, “saying it would be viewed as proselytism by the Moscow Patriarchate, and the consequences would be bad for the Catholic Church.” (Moscow, 29th January, 2001)

This is the practical consequence of the high level apostasy spoken of by by Pope Paul VI. Church leaders have abandoned their moral duty to send Catholic missionaries to Russia to spread the Gospel of Christ. These leaders must return to the spirit of Pope St Pius X, Pope Pius XI, Cardinal József Mindszenty and all the other virtuous Catholics who battled the errors of Russia. It is clear that the following warning of Pope Pius XI still holds true:

…the struggle between good and evil remained in the world as a sad legacy of the original fall. Nor has the ancient tempter ever ceased to deceive mankind with false promises. It is on this account that one convulsion following upon another has marked the passage of the centuries, down to the revolution of our own days. This modern revolution, it may be said, has actually broken out or threatens everywhere, and it exceeds in amplitude and violence anything yet experienced in the preceding persecutions launched against the Church. Entire peoples find themselves in danger of falling back into a barbarism worse than that which oppressed the greater part of the world at the coming of the Redeemer.

Now this realistic view of Russia presented by the Holy Father is not currently popular, because it is not ‘politically correct.’ But we must be convinced that political considerations must not take precedence over saving the souls of those in atheism and schism. Preserving “dialogue” with Russian politicians and schismatics is not more important than heeding the urgent request of Our Lady to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart.

Martin, who read it in 1960, also said it was written on a single sheet of paper.[sup]3][/sup] Bishop Venancio also stated it was written on a single sheet of paper, and even gave the size of the margins.[sup]4][/sup] The official Fatima archivist for the Vatican said that Sr. Lucia also said it was written on a single piece of paper.[sup]2][/sup]

In addition, the four-page vision released by the Vatican was not in the form of a letter and there’s proof that the Third Secret was written in the form of a letter. For example, Sr. Lucia was interviewed by Fr. Jongen in 1946 and told him that she “communicated the third part in a letter to the Bishop of Leiria.”[sup]5][/sup] Fr. The press release read as follows: “… it is most likely that the letter will never be opened, in which Sister Lucy wrote down the words which Our Lady confided as a secret to the three shepherds of the Cova da Iria.”[sup]7][/sup]

And that’s just the beginning.

For example, Sr. Lucia was interviewed by Fr. Jongen in 1946 and told him that she “communicated the third part in a letter to the Bishop of Leiria.”[sup]5][/sup] Fr. Malachi Martin also said it was written in the form of a letter.[sup]6][/sup] Canon Galamba, Bishop of Leiria, also said it was written in the form of a letter.[sup]5][/sup] And on top of all that, the Vatican’s own press release from 1960 said it was written in the form of a letter. The press release read as follows: “… it is most likely that the letter will never be opened, in which Sister Lucy wrote down the words which Our Lady confided as a secret to the three shepherds of the Cova da Iria.”[sup]7][/sup]

And that’s just the beginning.

Yes, I’m afraid that’s about the level of the case put by the “Bury Fatima” Brigade. Read Socci’s “The Fourth Secret” and Fr Kramer’s 'The Devil’s Final Battle" and you will see exact quotes, names and dates.

…and none of them can be substantiated.

It is 100% certain that the consecration has not been done

Not by a longshot. Even the late Father Fox INTERVIEWED Sr. Lucia after the Consecration. She told him that the Consecration was accepted by God.

and that there is a second document handwritten by Sr Lucy, containing Our Lady’s words, 20 - 25 lines on a shingle sheet of paper faintly visible through the envelope, kept in the Pope’s own bedroom, in the desk named “Barbarigo”, that has not yet been published.

And what pope would that be? The late John Paul II? Or Benedict XVI? The fact is: there is no substance that another letter - a ‘secret’ document by Sr. Lucia - was written by her. And what is the name ‘Barbarigo’ supposed to mean? There is no substantiation that this letter even exists.

There are those high in the Vatican who seem determined to convince everybody that Fatima is all over. But it is not. I would caution about speculating on motives – on either side. Just look at the facts: the actual words, when & where they were said. You will find most of the important facts and references, including a lot of what Socci & Fr Kramer have published, on fatima.org/.

It was mostly the Medjugorje-driven devotees who attempted to convince everybody that Fatima is all over. NOTHING was ever said from the side of the Vatican.

In 1960 Sr Lucy was put inder a lifelong gag of silence about Fatima.

This is false. Sr. Lucia was NEVER put under a lifelong gag of silence about Fatima.
