Is our marriage valid without having had a nuptial Mass?

My wife and I were married 21 years ago in a Catholic Church by a Catholic priest. We had all our friends and family there as witnesses.

We have been most joyfully returning fully to our Catholic religion over the past few years and are learning, or perhaps rediscovering the Catechism.

Although we were married in the Catholic Church, we did NOT have Mass as part of our Catholic Wedding Sacrement. Is our marriage valid without having celebrated it along with the Mass?

Thank you.

Hi,

As appropriate as it is to have a wedding within the context of the Mass, the Church does not require it. Certainly, your marriage is valid.
