Is participation in an ecumenical gospel choir acceptable?

I sing with a gospel choir. The choir is composed of Christians of various denominations. There are several Catholics and a variety of protestant denominations represented. The choir director is herself a non-denominational protestant, but was choir director for a number of years at a local Catholic parish.

The choir is not affiliated with a particular church or denomination, however we are sometimes invited to lead music at protestant services. We also perform at Catholic churches and secular venues as well.

We do not hold our own church “services” as a group, though we do say a short prayer together at the beginning and end of rehearsals. Sometimes the preaching at certain events we attend is not fully in accord with Catholic teaching (mainly about salvation, and how it is attained).

Assuming one fulfills the obligation to attend Sunday mass, is it acceptable for a Catholic to participate in such a group?

Thanks in advance.
