Is passionate kissing wrong for unmarried people?

I believe it would be wrong and actually sinful. This is especially the case if they are passionately kissing out of lust for each, like if they are making out or something. That said, I think that before marriage, the farthest that kissing should go is simply a peck on the cheek or lips. But then again, maybe I’m just old fashioned. 😛
No not old fasioned my friend. Smart. Im the same way. Deep kissing can easily lead to all sorts of regretable behavior. And regretable consequences. At least for me. If a person can keep control of themself, thats one thing. I dont partake because I know what will happen. Peace 🙂

I’d love to know how many people who posted here have actually had relationships of 6 months or more where the kiss was restrained to a peck?

Of course it was restrained to a mere peck! What do you think we are Catholics?..dont answer that…😛

Thank You, my God, that I was already married before I reverted back to Catholicism! 😃
(I’m totally kidding…well, sort of).

i totally agree. it seems to me the people who hold those views are in their 70s who married in the days wen things were different OR converts ‘do as i say not what i did’ OR amish lol.

i mean if you date a dude, who is gonna put up with it until marriage. fools.

My son’s sex ed teacher told the class that they should treat every person as if they were Christ. How far would you go with Christ? Would you hold his hand lovingly? of course! hug him and kiss his cheek or even a kiss on the lips? sure! Passionately kiss him? of course NOT.
Personally, I think that kissing on the lips isn’t appropriate unless you are in a romantic relationship with someone.

That’s good, the only problem with the first one is what happens when you’re married. Do you still treat the person like Christ? 😉
From what Ive seen, alot of Catholic guys do. They still have guilt over their sexuality. Just read some of these threads. Alot of the guys here are very messed up when it comes to this area. The women seem much more balanced and accepting of their sexuality. 🙂

Passionate kissing (like at the end of an old black and white movie) = okay.

Lustful making out, any act that in and of itself causes sexual arousal = not acceptable.

And, for the record, I’m a 20 year old man and have quite the desire to have a pure, loving relationship that doesn’t get ruined by lust (as so many of my past ones have been).

I would think if the kissing is “passionate”, there will be some sort of arousal and desire for more. Now if it’s gentle, then that’s something else. Even gentle kissing can suddenly turn more urgent, lol.

The Church teaches that passionate kissing can lead one to want to do more sexually, so it is dangerous when a couple is dating to kiss passionately. We shouldn’t ever put ourselves in dangerous situations. It’s stupid to do something the Church is against, and she is against passionate kissing outside of marriage.

Passionate kissing should be done only as an marital act. It surely involves sexual arousement/lust, so it must be sin. Why do you forget what Jesus said?
M’t:5:28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
