Is Peter's Tomb in Rome or Jerusalem?

**** a friend of mine told me that they discovered Peter’s actual tomb in Jersusalem, I have always believed Peter’s tomb was located under the Vatican especially since being well aware of what the early church fathers believed as well, he lend me this documentry called “the secret tomb of jesus” and it looked pretty convincing but it did not shake my belief, I was curious what you guys think of topics such as this one
 
They’re always finding the ‘Lost’ tomb of Jesus, and then the ‘Lost’ marriage certificate of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Soon they’ll find the ‘Lost’ body of Our Blessed Mother, and I’m sure someone’s claiming to have found the ‘Lost’ couch belonging to St. Peter’s sick mother-in-law.

For some reason many athiests detest the fact that others believe, and think that the only reason we could possibly believe in Christ is because we haven’t been properly shown the logic and ‘proof’ of His non-existance. They politely are trying to remedy this fact by creating mockumentaries that toss out the rules of normal scientific discovery and instead try to sell their philosophy and whatever bit of scrounged up assumptions they can gather together for The Discovery Channel or the History Channel, whichever will pay higher. These bits of badly pieced together ‘discoveries’ are then triumphed as the final nail in the coffin of The Church and usually presented during Holy Week as a not-so-subtle mud sling at Our Faith.

I’ve seen that so called documentary, and the leaps and assumptions it makes are amazing, My High School Biology teacher would’ve given me an F if I presented what they did, and claimed it was a feasible theory. They assume that similar names mean that this has to be Jesus’s tomb, and if any of the names don’t match what we have in Scripture, they make up stories to create this person as some relative of Our Lord.

The only fact these so-called-scientists need to worry about is the fact that Hell is hot, and they seem to be on the express track.

The tomb is in Rome. My husband and I have been there.

that is some seventh-day adventist’s website, and it’s really clearly anti-catholic, you can tell by how this sda guy places “666” boths sides on the “Roman Catholocism” link. and on top of that he also trys to prove that the Pope is really trying to sunday a requirment which happens to be one of a known SDA prophecy.

I think it’s a good site to learn about how the seventh day adventist understand their interpretation.
 
Peter’s tomb is located directly beneath the main altar of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

On Wednesday 26th June 1968, Pope Paul VI, conducting an audience in the basilica of Saint Peter in Rome, departed from his normal routine to issue a statement of enormous significance to the Holy See, Roman Catholics and Christians throughout the world: the Pope declared that the mortal remains of Peter, foremost of the Apostles of Jesus Christ, had been found beneath the great church in which he was speaking. The statement marked the culmination of one of the most famous and important archaeological investigations of recent times; a vast undertaking which had engaged the talents of scientists, historians and linguists for a quarter of a century.
