Is playing Wizard101 bad, and/or sinful?

Hello, I have become attracted to Wizard101. I have read Chrisitan (prortestant) articles regarding games like this, mainly Harry Potter, and they call it Witchcraft. I in no way see it as such, but I was looking through some of the “spells” and one of them was Leviathan, a sea creature used to defeat other players of the game. And one of the 7 deadly sins demons was Leviathan.

This is just a game, an online, kid friendly game. This is not like the Ouija board at all!
Even in one of the worlds of Wizard101, there is a “Dog-Catholic” Cathedral. Its almost identical to a Catholic Church, but its players are dogs. ( You have to play it to understand)

So, based off the information I gave, and the information you may look up about it.
Would this game be considered Witchcraft?
 
I don’t think it is, but I think it can lead to a ‘hardening’ towards such things. I used to play Everquest and WoW. I found that they tended to draw me into them until I was actually addicted to playing. I became consumed with them and that was all I thought about. So I avoid them. They are fun games, that I do know. I also know that not everyone plays gets ‘addicted’. So I think it’s according to your own personality.

Do I think you are performing witchcraft by playing a game? No. Do I think we should play those kinds of games? I’m not so sure.

Probably not witchcraft. Could become problematic for some – depending on your age.

If I recall, this is the game that is advertised to be played as a family on TV.
 
Wizard 101 is a lot of fun, and that fact that it upsets the ultra-right protestants is all the more reason to play it if you ask me. 😉

In fact, I used to play it sometimes, but right now I am hooked on Toontown (my daughter got me started, it is not my fault) I used to play Everquest and WOW but they take up WAY to much time if you ask me. If you did like these games and want something a little lighter both in content and time, check either of them out.
