Satan has made it his main mode of operation since the Garden of Eden to lie. And he is very good at it. It is no different when approaching the topic of pornography. He has lies that constantly run through the head of someone facing temptation from the “lust of the eyes.” Below is a list of lies - and how to respond and disarm those attacks.
THE LIE: Looking at pornography is a perfectly normal and healthy behavior.
THE TRUTH: Looking at pornography is not normal or healthy - we were created to be one man with one woman. God shows this in Genesis and Song of Solomon.
THE LIE: Pornography will help you to know what you like once you get married.
THE TRUTH: Pornography will pervert what you understand marriage to be. Instead of trying to serve each other, you will be selfish in having your desires met.
THE LIE: Pornography will not be a problem when you get married.
THE TRUTH: Pornography will poison your marriage. You will not be able to turn off the switch when the ring is on your finger. The habits you started as a single will remain as a spouse.
THE LIE: Looking at pornography will not hurt your spouse.
THE TRUTH: Pornography will eat away at your marriage - by bringing others into your marriage bed.
THE LIE: You would never actually treat someone like what you see in pornography.
THE TRUTH: You will develop the selfish mentality portrayed in pornography and see every person of the opposite sex as a way to fulfill your desires and fantasies.
THE LIE: You will never move past looking to doing.
THE TRUTH: God created beauty and love. Lust was not created by God. It is Satan’s poor counterfeit for God’s design for man & wife.
THE LIE: These models/actors want to do this, so it is not really demeaning them.
THE TRUTH: Hundred of millions of people are trapped in this also. That is not a way to justify your behavior. It is to stop Satan from isolating you.
THE LIE: If anyone finds out, you will be destroyed.
THE TRUTH: You cannot fight this alone - you need help.
THE LIE: No one will ever know you are doing this.
THE TRUTH: Pornography can addict on the level of crack.
THE LIE: Your kids will not pick up on your habits.
THE TRUTH: Fighting pornography is not moralistic - it is trying to save our families from destruction.
THE LIE: Pornography should be protected as freedom of speech.
THE TRUTH: The pornography industry has taught people this argument. It is not freedom of speech - it is objectifying, insulting, and destructive. Defending that does not make you socially conscious - it makes you a tool of Satan.
THE LIE: God understands how you are built - He will overlook this habit.
THE TRUTH: God built you. He knows exactly how you should behave. He will not ignore sin. He calls us to be holy and sanctified. He calls us to be intimate with Him. Getting involved in this behavior cheapens His grace and shows you do not believe His Word.

That does not take into account the fast amount of amateur material - or people taking advantage of celebrities or neighbors. That also minimizes the sex trade industry that feeds the pornography world.
THE LIE: Since it is just looking, it is not really adultery.THE TRUTH: God says that if a man looks lustfully at a woman, it is the same as sleeping with her. He fails to see the difference.

I would have to say that false religion and deception are Satan’s greatest weapons. Pornography is a manifistation of sexual immorality are the fruits of living in the unredeemed flesh. Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior are the only way out of this morass.

I don’t know how the porn industry makes money these days. The internet is flooded with more free pornography of every sort immaginable than you could watch in a hundred lifetimes.
I like to think of pornography as the ultimate “celebration of the flesh”. Pornography counterfeits and then significantly amplifies the legitimate attraction, physical pleasure and satisfaction that God designed into the love between man and woman. Far too often, people tend to demonize sexual excitement and fulfillment. It isn’t the physical pleasure, and excitement that it is wrong, it is the way we get there.
In the end, pornography is one of Satan’s greatest tools in the destruction of families because of the incredible power it has over the unredeemed flesh.

sdtouchdon. I agree with what you posted concerning pornography. But I think I would have to give the nod to war. Perhaps, violence in general. Maybe wives can tolerate the cold distance and nightmares better than competing with dirty pictures. But, world wide. I think war does the most harm.

I have to disagree with you. While it’s effects are not usually immediate, sexual immorality always leads to the destruction of the family. Without the family, it is impossible to have a civilized socitey. War on the other hand is often necessary and waged in order to protect a civilized society from evil. Without a civilized society, we’re all dead!

Satan’s greatest tool is pride - I saw him use it to destroy a true man of God. By the time he was finished, the Priest was saying, “I don’t have to submit to any man in this room,” while his Bishop was standing right next to him! and, This was after his Archbishop had already told him to disassociate himself from a cultlike organization, and he had refused to do so…

You guys are looking at this with mostly American perspectives. Porn is a very powerful tool in America to absolutely DESTROY people, but what about the middle east or African countries with little access to media? Satan isn’t getting much use out of porn there I’m not sure if we can measure the greatest tool but porn is really a problem only in America, Canada, Japan, and Europe (for the most part)
However I will say I HATE it. It disgusts me, angers me, saddens me. It’s highly influential and promotes misogyny. I know some women use porn but we should be realistic, it’s mostly made for and used by men and boys. Their opinions of women, sex, and relationships are being formed by what they see in movies, TV, songs, and porn and all media represent women as sex objects whose only purpose is to satisfy men sexually. Porn (and most other media) is extremely degrading to both men and women in different ways but basically misogynst rap songs and certain movies like ones that center around a boy trying to “get laid” and his only interest in the opposite sex is purely sexual–help promote the message of porn, it confirms it and supports it so porn is maybe the most blatant tool but music, movies, books, etc are all promoting the same sins

Disagree if you want but I think this is a manifestation of freedom without responsibility. Freedom has been used to give license to sinful behavior. This is an explanation for the general culture of pornography. What explains the hard core prevalence and taboos becoming more and more accepted as ok behavior such as incest is the slippery slope that pornography is. You may get a high on certain types of porn but eventually you become numb to it and demand more hard core stuff to get the high you desire. When you lower your inhibition through making different hard core things to be normal and even boring, it opens the door for the most horrible debauchery that one can imagine. This is one of the reasons marriages fail. People get married for the sexual pleasure they had during the courtship and dating phase but when the sex becomes more mundane with time they start to add more and more sinful means to spice up their love life. Eventually, this becomes mundane or they grow apart from each other when they take out the unitive one-on-one aspect to married sex. Many divorces are the result of the same slippery slope and acceptance of the worst of things as normal.
The rise of mainstream pornography is the same as the rise of abortion. Feminists who used to be against both before WWII were convinced by liberal men that both these two things kept women down and should be encouraged in the name of women’s rights. You see this reflected in modern feminism. Many feminists will rail on about the objectification of women through porn but at the same time will see it as a fundamental and good aspect of women’s liberation to be able to express themselves through porn. You cant have it both ways with porn or with abortion. Men are not wired to view porn as simple “art” like some women claim to be able to do. My cousin got yelled at by his art teacher for focusing on the breasts of a live nude model they were painting in art class. What the heck did the professor expect with 19 year old young men? I think some people lack a fundamental understanding of human nature and try to build a society from an intellectual perspective that works poorly in practice.

I cannot resist to (name removed by moderator)ut my opinion. Porn although a very powerful tool in Satans armory. It is not the strongest weapon. For, we Christians have one more powerful. Free will. We choose to conduct this disgrace. We choose to look upon a gender at first with awe of the beuty that God created then, we turn it into something vile and unclean.
Pray with those battling this illness not just commenting on them. For they started out “in awe” and they need prayers doe their disease will never leave them satisfied.

Ah, see. The world is still a large place. The problems some western societies are having with maintaining the family unit. Whether the cause is porn, materialism or some other pitiful self indulgance. Are small compaired to the waste that is produced by war. Some of the last centuries wars. Have nearly obliberated entire generations. I’m not saying the family unit is not important. But people have to be present and not burdened with the after birth of war to form one. I agree, however. That many people are obsessed with sex. You would have to be. To think it was satans greatest tool.
