It is one of them,he has so many right now thriving I don’t know which one is the most destructive.:nope:

I think sex is one of God’s greatest gifts, as it is through sex that God creates human souls. Because of the great good that sex can be, misuse of sex is one of the greatest evils. Pornography is one of the many methods Satan uses to try to destroy the true dignity of sexuality.

The porn industry in the US is now greater than the oil industry. Is porn Satan’s greatest tool in destroying marriages, families and ultimately souls?

I’d say it’s very high on the list…if in fact not number one.

I don’t know if it’s his greatest tool but it certainly is the one which seems to working very well for him.

Porn cannot be satan’s greatest tool because it is too obvious. Satan is sneakier than that.

How about good, wholesome TV commercials that gradually build a mentality in an entire generation that yes, we do have needs and yes, those needs can be satisfied with a product or service you can buy. No money down – e.z. payment plan.

I figure porn is small potatoes compared to that, in terms of subtlety and ability to make people lose sight of the eternal and cling to the temporal.

Then we have mental health ads that just kill me. “Do you sometimes not get your way? Do you ever regret decisions you made in the past? Maybe you’re experiencing depression. If you don’t get helpp from us, then please get helpp somewhere because if you don’t your entire life will remain in ruins.”

Feel anxiety? Call 1-800-PRO-HELP for more information on how we can exploit your anxiety for monetary and political gain. Don’t pay a thing; it’s all covered by federal grant.

Commercial enterprise and government thus become our gods of this world, all working for the prince of this world, Satan himself.

At least porn isn’t pretentious. It delivers exactly what it claims to. Unless, of course, it is disguised as an attractive woman telling us what type of automobile men should drive to get her attention.

Hi guys!

No, porn is not Satan’s greatest tool. That is, and has always been pride. From that one sin flows all of the poisons that destroy marriages and lives.

I agree with Alan. Porn is obvious. It will get those who are already not strong in their faith or discipline. The more subtle things will like telivision work on even the minds of those who are more religious and spiritual. It slowly degrades your mind and soul. With porn, a person who is in control of themselves can see that is evil, and won’t even go near it.

You beat me to it. Pride it is.

To kick it up a notch, maybe porn is in fact an integral part of the plan.

Maybe porn is the red herring that keeps our focus away from the more subtle controller.

Maybe I think this way because many years ago I bought an album by the late great Frank Zappa with a song called “I’m the Slime” – interesting for this discussion because many of his audio material is at least borderline pornographic, considering the audience of his day.

I’m going to try to recite from memory instead of looking up the lyrics; that’s how programmed I am by this twisted by creative musician:

****** I’m the Slime *******
I am gross and perverted
I’m obsessed and deranged
I have existed for years
and very little has changed

I’m the tool of the government and industry too
for I am destined to rule, and regulate you.
I may be vile and pernicious, but you can’t look away.
I make you think I’m delicious with the stuff that i say.

I’m the best you can get,
have you guessed me yet?
I’m the slime … oozing out … from your T.V. set.

You will obey me while I lead you,
and eat the garbage that I feed you,
until the day that we won’t need you.
Don’t go for help; no one will heed you.

Your mind is totally controlled it has been stuffed into my mold.
And you will do as you are told until the rights to you are sold.

Chorus:
I am the slime from your video,
oozing along, on the living room floor.
I am the slime from your video,
can’t stop the slime, people look at me go.

Whew. If that’s not the whole song, someone else can look it up. That was fun to type. I did half of it with my eyes closed!

The only part that you got wrong from what I can see is you forgot this verse.

That’s right, folks…
Don’t touch that dial

Oh, yes!

And spoken in a quintessential “professional radio announcer” voice! 🙂

I think porn is becoming very mainstream, which is very dangerous. Secular society takes it as a given now that all men are into porn, and I think there’s a general rise in public consciousness, acceptance, and popularity of different bizzare sexual practices.

Just last week in the airport I noticed the guy next to me reading some GQ-like men’s magazine. There was an ad for an old, respected brand of men’s deodorant. The ad read,

“If the only French term you know is ménage á trois, then you’re our kind of man.”

Which I’m sure their ad agency thought was very clever. But it’s as if they’re saying “If you’re ignorant and culturally illiterate, and into weird sex and porn, you’re our kind of man.” So I won’t be buying their product. But that’s the typical attitude that society takes toward young men.

I think porn and all versions that “sneak” into our lives is right up there. I am talking about the “mens” mags that claim to be a variety mag - not porn. Like GQ, maxum etc. I also think the sneaking of sex into commercials, espcially during family viewing time. How about those $@%% lavitra and other sexual stimulant commercials. UGH! There are very few places in the world where sex is not prevalent. Try walking through the mall with your kids without them noticing the trashy T-shirts with suggestive words on them! How about the Little Mermaid VCR tape case with a subliminal penis on it? It is all over the place, this is Satan’s work.

The porn aimed at men is obvious. Let’s not forget that most of entertainment aimed at women is also sending a subtle but continuous message of porn.

Hello

Yes, it is getting difficult to avoid it as certain women are exposing themselves more in the way they dress.

The temptation can be avoided. But it is sad to see women dignity being destroyed.

Probably in the past never would have known that it was sinful, but as I get closer to God, I am aware of more things in this life.

God Bless
Saint Andrew.

K don’t hurl any stones here…but my husband and I like to look up “adult” fictional stories sometimes to read togethor, in an effort to spice things up a bit.

We are just looking for the kind of things you would find in a romance novel. Sometimes we’ve found some interesting stuff. But a lot of what we came acrossed is really disturbing!!!

Like, on the “Top Rated” stories section, we came acrossed stories that involved infidelity, groups, rape, and even incest!!! ** Those were the “top rated” ones!!!**

GROSS!!!

I’m seriously starting to think that most of the people on the internet (except, hopefully, you lovely people) are looking up hard core stuff and getting more and more immune to “taboo” topics.

Like, I can’t believe on a secular forum they were actually debating whether incest was wrong, and most thought it wasn’t!!!

Plus, my friend looked it up once, and every single cerial killer/rapist that was studied had a SERIOUS porn addiction. I’m talking entire collections. You can’t say that the evil mindset caused the porn adiction and not the other way around, because they obviously had the porn before they started raping and killing people.

I think the public acceptance of porn has creeped into the culture in various ways—through porn constantly being mentioned on TV shows…for that matter, naming the guy who outed Nixon “Deep Throat”—we’ve been reminded of that in recent days and yet that was 30 years ago when porn was nowhere near as socially accepted as now.

I think Satan’s greatest victory is getting people to think of freedom and licentiousness as synonymous. People think that bizarre sexual acts and lifestyle choices and selfishness are all equal to freedom and freedom is a value Americans hold dear…I think blurring that line is Satan’s greatest achievement.
