Well,they say it is the direct word of allah,but there are too many mistakes in the book to suggest it is work of man.
E.g The quran says the earth is flat!

My advise is to read it carefully. You will see that the deity portrayed can not possibly be the same as we worship. The true God is a Holy Trinity. This Allah is not. The Koran even lies and has Jesus saying (supposedly) that "they lie who says I am Allah’s (their god) son) But we Christians know the truth.
Muslims will also argue that Allah is the same as Yahweh because of the meaning of the name. But we might as well be talking about 2 guys one named Steve & 1 named Stephan. Sure the names are related but from there the similarity is over. The god of the Koran is NOT the true God & Mohamed was a false prophet. I started studying Islam 30 years ago.

It seems to me that instead of asking: “Is Quran the words of a true God?” We should be asking: “Is Quran the true words of God?” IMHO, it isn’t.

You know I just did a quick search on the internet and found that according to some sources and interpretations the Quran does in fact claim the earth is flat! And so does the Bible… so, unless you guys just want to go round-and-round over this one I don’t think it is going to be a strong support of either faith’s claim of truth. Just my opinion though.

This can be debated till all are blue in the face…Catholics will say no because they do not believe what is written in the Quran and Muslims will do the same becuase they see the Bible as having been corrupted.
The question in the title “Is Quran the word of a true God?”…well to a Muslim of course…that would be like asking “Is the Bible the words of a true God?” and Christians would say yes. But if you ask a Catholic about the QUran you would get a No and ask a Muslim about the Bible and you will get a No.
So what is the point??

Yes, the biblical verses that talk about the earth’s shape, especially in the Psalms, can be interpreted as saying the earth is flat. The difference is that Catholics understand that David and the other writers of the OT were not trying to tell us about the shape of the earth but merely describing what they knew about it as they praised God for creation.

Folks I still say read it. It is not so much the inaccurate cosmology as the personality & attributes of the god that is portrayed that shows it is a false holy book. It directly contradicts every teaching about the Trinity.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyah (d. 1328 CE), one of the great scholars of Islam discussed the question of whether the earth and all celestial bodies are round or not. Refer to his famous treatise, 'ar-Risalah al-‘Arshiyah’ which can be found in Majmu’ul-Fatawa, Vol. 6, pp. 546-ff.He begins by mentioning many scholars of Islam previous to him who have said that all celestial bodies are round. He quotes a verse where God said in the Quran: And He (i.e., Allah) it is Who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon. They float, each in a falak (The Noble Quran, 21:33).
Ibn Abbas, one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammed and the most learned in Quranic explanation, said about the word Falak: “A falaka like that of a spinning wheel.”
Ibn Taymiyah continues: The [word] falak [in the Arabic language] means that which is round. From which is the statement [of the Arabs]: <<The young girl’s breasts have ta-fa-la-ka when they become round.>> (Vol. 6, pp. 566-567)
Ibn Taymiyah discusses why those on the other side of the earth are not below us, just like we are not below them. He writes:

In another passage (Vol. 5, p. 150) Ibn Taymiyah clearly states the earth is spherical.
Significantly Abu Ya’la in his work Tabaqatal-Hanabilah (Biographical Entries of the Hanabali Scholars) quotes the unanimous consensus (ijma) of all Muslim scholars that the earth is round. This consensus was mentioned by the scholars of the second generation (the students of the Prophet’s Companions) and was based upon Ibn Abbas’ explanation to 21:33 (previously cited) and other evidences.
The later belief of Muslim scholars, like as-Suyuti (died 1505 CE) that the earth is flat represents a deviation from this earlier opinion.

Obviously, it wasnt revealed to uphold the trinity, it was revealed to clarify the true way to believe in God, the original way related by the previous Prophets like Abraham and Moses and (as Muslims believe) Jesus. Its a fact the trinity concept of God did not exist before christianity, but that the God as a single person and Being was what was revealed and believed by the previous nations, the Quran just upholds that concept of God.

It doesn’t just deny the trinity…it denies the progression of God’s revelation of Himself throughout human history. It denies the effects on mankind of the loss of the original goodness and original justice by Adam and Eve, it denies the need for mankind’s redemption, it twists the purpose and true meaning of covenant, and the Koran reflects no understanding of grace, holiness, sacrifice, sanctification, and the Kingdom of God and the New Covenant ushered in by Christ. It denies God as the loving father He desires to be to us. It denies the union and intimacy God wants to have with us.
Mohammed’s confusion and lack of understanding is evident all over the Koran (yes, I have read most of it.) His solution to his confusion was to try to take God’s salvation plan backward to the “faith of Abraham.” If someone tried to enlighten him, he simply called them liars and said they changed the books. If someone challenged him to think about God more fully, he simply forbid his followers to think beyond the “revelations” he was giving them. While it’s a highly commendable and desirable thing to trust God as Abraham did, God’s true salvation plan had moved far beyond the days of Abraham.

I find that it is amazing that Muhammad personal love affair was solved neatly by a revelation that abrogate the former Islamic law that prohibited marrying the wife of one’s son… Of course later on to make thing very legalistic, Muhammad also received a revelation that abolished adoption.
“Allah has not … made your adopted sons your real sons”. (Surah 33:4).
As a result, Zaid was no loger considered Muhammad’s son.
