In Christian theology Satan is for real. What evidence,** other than scriptural references**, have you found that Satan is alive and at work in the world?

In my daily life, temptations. I’m in a high school. So in my school there is a lot of sexual conversations and actions of course. A lot of gang promotion or gang affiliation. Drugs, Smoking, Alcohol. To me, that’s Satan. Satan’s definitely a being but his work is through all those things.

God bless :byzsoc:

Only a creature of pure evil could think of something like abortion then convince people that’s not only a good idea, but a basic human right.

There’s the evidence of St. Padre Pio physically wrestling with the devil. But anyone who is in love with the Lord can tell you that Satan is real. The more you love the Lord, the more you can expect to hear from the devil. Some people don’t believe in Satan. No one is happier with that attitude than Satan, himself. That gives him a free hand to act with no protection for his victims. If we are aware of how much Satan wants our souls, we will recognize those instances of his evil influence in our lives. When we are on guard against him, it’s easy to call in the forces of Good to help us. A prayer to St. Michael, for instance, will quickly bring in reinforcements for you. Your own Guardian Angel is always at your side. St. Pio urges us to take advantage of his service.

Evil spirits have been present in every religion showing that we either personify evil, or there is something we base this on. Also, if there is no devil, logically our God is either bipolar, or we perceive evil where there is none. So, if there is a God, we either can’t trust anything he says because he is bipolar/tells us there is evil when there isn’t, or there exists a devil.

In my opinion, there has to be a devil when presented with the world we are in, even if there isn’t a God. There is definitely evil in the world. We see it every day. Now either there are two warring factions, or the evil one allows there to appear to be good, when our good ends in the same misery and everything we believed is a lie. The only difference is that with a good God the evil is real because it can strengthen us while the evil figure will only allow there to appear to be good because there can be no good to confront its selfishness and insecurities. As we can see there is evil, and there is a good. We know that there are dual forces and not one fake force and one real force. Evil is real and Good is real. Good is not fake. God is not fake. Therefore, we have to have a devil.

So God is either bipolar and can’t be trustd, or he is not powerful enough to beatg the devil, so he can’t be trusted in that respect either.
Conclusion: let’s do our best as humans, becasue ven if God exists, He won’t be much of a help.

What you are decribing here is pure and simple moral dualism. That’s not Christianity, that is Zoroastrism pure sang.

I think the solution is quite simp^le: either God is perfectly Good and there can be no absolute evil, which means the devil is a delusion, or God is just one of two ‘poles’: a good one and an evil one, Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, who keep the unievsre in balance.

There are many Devil worshippers in the world and people involved in the occult,

Many Christians have seen others who are possesed being exorcised in Churches.

Death and sin entered the world through the fall of man and Satans infleunce onto mankind has turned the world into turmoil

How true. It seems my “'belief” in Satan has incredibly in direct proportion to my relationship with God.

Also, I would recommend talking to a Priest who has been involved with exorcisms. Our parish priest has been involved in many and will tell stories that chill to the bone. There is no doubt that Satan exists and he would love for us to believe he does not.

Ironic then, isn’t it, that he gives so much evidence of his existence?

The famous psychiatrist Scott Peck and others have witnessed exorcisms and come away with vivid testimony of a fiend present in the one possessed.

Have they been taken in? How could psychiatrists be taken in when they are so well trained to identify psychological illness as opposed to demonic possession?

There is widespread testimony from those with first-hand experience.
Yes, I have personally known at least a couple people who were possessed or otherwise had some level of association with the demonic.

No, if he isn’t bipolar and there is no devil, logically we see evil where there is none because we are too worried and scrupulous. Moral relativism would fit in better and we are the ones in error but since there is no evil it really doesn’t matter.

Moral dualism is essentially what Christianity is. It is God’s love for the world, a world which was created to where it can be imperfect because a perfect world does not allow for free will. And you are right, there is no absolute evil. Through every evil, good can be achieved. You can look at just about anything. A persons death can inspire others. Arson can teach people values that family is worth something and that things aren’t important. Murder can teach us to value every second of life and it can promote justice. Everything can be good if you just see all that truly happens from it.

I think that evolution, the dehumanizing of the unborn, the lack of respect for the living, and the brutality of the 20th Century, are all evidence that Satan is alive and at work in the world.

Holiness is a matter of degree. Hermits and monks shoot for the gold, and try to live very holy lives by keeping their mind fixated on their Savior.

Their are so many things in this world whereby focusing our attention on them leads us away from holiness. Satan is subtle and will do all he can to lead us away from holiness.
