I get information about the Middle East from a couple of different news sources. Ariel Sharon has broken from Likud and Peres has left the Labor Party to form a new Kadima party which seems to be trying to incorporate Palestinians. Here’s today’s headline. There is an article that follows but it is a bit long.
“Sharon Seeks Out Extremist Arab Mayor for New Party
An Arabic-language newspaper in the Negev reports that Ariel Sharon offered the mayor of the Arab city of Rahat a place on his new Kadima party list for the Knesset”
This comes to me by way of email and It hasn’t yet appeared on the Israeli News source to which it’s linked. I will pass on the link ASAP.
Like all Israeli politicians they must walk a fine line between the defense of an Israeli homeland and peace with their neighbors. Israel could Nuke them all but there might not be much left of the region if they do. Iran has nuclear weapons and I’m fairly certain if Iran seriously threatened to use them on Israel Israel would hit them with a preemptive strike.
In your opinion is Sharon’s attempt at inclusion worth the effort?
