I know this is probably a tired subject, but I brought this up in another forum and thought it deserved its own thread.
I know that in the Bible Jesus cleary gave all authority to his church at pentecost. He promised to be there with them always. He did not give us a bible. Since he did this, we give authority to the church ulitmately.
The protestants give all authority to the bible. Which is impossible because it is only powerful through an interpretor anyway. BUT I don’t think that this very doctrine is biblical thus it is itself a tradition of men.
Can any sola script subscribers clarify this for me?
