Has anyone noticed that it seems the Holy Spirit is rounding up the troops. I do not know if it is just me, but it seems that a lot of cradle catholics are learning their faith with zeal and vigor. It seems to have started for me about 8 years ago. Is something on the horizon…soon?
 
I don’t want to go to far “out there”… but the signs of the times are not good.

I regularly ask Jesus and Mary for the strength and courage to take on whatever may happen - and to please, no matter what, let me stand up for the faith.

I’m preparing myself spiritually.

Pray.

I’m feeling some rumblings as well.
 
When people come into difficult times, sometime the only thing to do is to look up.
God will be there waiting for the opportunity to speak to their hearts.
There have been plenty of difficult days.
 
I actually think the problems for the church are balanced by a return to carefully considered, orthodox faith by many. I’m a college student, and while I see a lot of
Catholics who have left the church, I also sometimes encounter people who return with zeal. I for one was an atheist for most of my life. I’m not alone!

I don’t know, but I will mention this: Since I came back into the Catholic church a little over a month ago (which basically happened through divine intervention), my family (who never expected me to go back to the church) keeps saying either hell just froze over or the end of the world is near. It’s all tongue in cheek, of course. 😛

I agree. The moral fabric of our society is breaking down at a rapid rate. I agree with the OP. As the secular world becomes more and more hostile towards Catholicism, with our “outdated”(I’ve heard people say that about the Church)views. Our views are attacked by many people. I think that all Catholics should learn how to defend our faith. As one of the priests at my parish said on Pentecost “Happy Birthday! I say this because we are the Church. You are the Church.” In my opinion, if you insult the Church, you insult me and every other Catholic.

now, if we were living during the plague years or in the Warsaw ghetto, or in darfur, you’d have a point.
 
My friends and I have been talking about this lately! The Spirit is moving baby!

Come Holy Spirit, set our hearts on fire with love of You and love for our brothers! Renew the face of the earth! Amen! Hallelujah!!

YES! I am a ‘revert’ since Lent and have since met 2 other women, middle aged to elderly that have just returned to the Church after long absences (20 yrs)
You know when you are a teen and think your parents don’t know anything, then when you have kids, gee your parents are looking alot smarter! Then when your kids are themselves teens, you hear your parents words coming from your mouth! Maybe for some of us it just takes a bit longer to realize that the Catholic Church really did have it right all along?
 
Oh I totally agree guys. I love apologetics, and to see guys like Tim staples, Scott Hahn Steven ray, Marcus Grodi, Michael cumbie, just to mention a few names. How God worked his spirit and was able to touch these individuals. God has been all powerful and will continue to guide ppl in the right direction, which is his church, the Catholic Church. God willing those ppl allow God into their lives.
 
God Bless Our Catholic Church. We are and must be the light for everyone to follow out of darkness.
 
This could be.
The Lord has shown me great mercy. After a long life in the wilderness, followed by a very dark night ( near 2 yrs) where nothing made sense, nor anyone in it…
One morning not long ago I was awakened with this strong calling to call a priest, and I obeyed His will, and called a priest. I have returned to the Catholic Church after many many years.

This evening on Mother Angelica’s classics, she spoke of The Diary of St Faustina and in it something about a raising of the consciousness ( also referred to in Rev) Mother said at that time ( 1996) her personal belief, not the churches, was this was coming or beginning. where many would be suddenly awakened. She was also reading in Rev about this.

If anyone can expound on St Faustina’s writing on this thank you in advance.

I agree that the Spirit is abound… Surely Papa Francis is evidence of this. But do not fear (as we are told by Jesus more than any other command) and resign to the divine will! There is no reason to be defensive or hostile. We should follow the example of our Lord… turn the other cheek… accept any insults as He did when being questioned by Pilot and others…Let your actions speak your faith!!
 
There is no question that there is a change. Not all that long ago, it was entirely comfortable to be a catholic in American culture. Today that’s only possible if you’re not terribly serious about your catholicism. It’s gotten to the point that merely holding to the doctrines of the catholic church defines you as a hateful political extremist in American politics and culture. That’s not a stable situation. It will either be reversed or chaos is in our future. But such an innate cognitive dissonance (catholics/evangelicals are sickos vs catholics/evangelicals are 40% of the population) is not sustainable.

Big changes are coming. Who can predict what they are…
