Is something going on?

I was literally just talking about this with two people over the past couple of days!

My take on it is that the coming persecution here in the U.S, and I truly do believe it is coming in America, is that through Church history persecution has always produced saints. Catholics are now waking up from complacency that has been going on over the past 50 years.

Another take on it, and THIS is what really gives me hope is the new crop of priests coming up. The older “spirit of vatican II” priests and bishops who have wreaked havoc on the Church the last 50 years are dying out and are being replaced with younger more orthodox clergy.

The devil is going to fight as hard as he possibly can because he knows he is going to loose. All we can do is pray, pray, pray and offer up our sufferings and fast for the Church.

There is no question that there is a change. Not all that long ago, it was entirely comfortable to be a catholic in American culture. Today that’s only possible if you’re not terribly serious about your catholicism.
That’s not a sign that something ‘big’ is imminent. It’s been like that in the UK for many years now (a couple of decades even).

It’s all in the definition of “imminent” I suppose. History is measured in decades and two aren’t very much. For Americans, things haven’t changed all that much in the last 65 years. I expect that the next 30 will bring changes that dwarf what happened in the last 65.

For me, the battle is in the small things which God places before me in the course of everyday life.

Getting up on time… Not being a glutton… Raising my children properly… Taking care of the gifts God has given me like my home and car and health… Forgiving those who have trespassed against me in the past…

I’m not too sure that God is going to “round up the troops” ever. If he does then we will know it. Unitl then, the battle is right in front of me on my desk, in my kitchen, and in how I interact with people whom I meet every day.

Before we take the first step of a march into an epic battle, it might be prudent for each of us individually to look down to make sure that we are not about to step into a hole. Something is going on, and it is nearer than you think. It is right in front of you now.

👍👍 Absolutely spot on.

The battle we are called to fight started when we each reached the age of reason. We are not called to fight some dramatic, glorious battle, we are called to take part in the battle against sin that has been going on since man first sinned. To wait and prepare for a ‘battle ahead’ is to neglect the fact that the battle is going on all around us and we should devote all our energy into fighting the battle that is already waging within us all.

The time to turn to God is always RIGHT NOW!

Remember though Jesus Christ told us nobody knows the day or the hour. But he did say there would be signs.

Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."

Salvation is from the Jews

Hebrews, chapter 1:1 In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways to our ancestors through the prophets; 2in these last days, he spoke to us through a son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe,3who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being, and who sustains all things by his mighty word. When he had accomplished purification from sins,he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high,as far superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
Hebrews, chapter 2:1Therefore, we must attend all the more to what we have heard, so that we may not be carried away. 2For if the word announced through angels proved firm, and every transgression and disobedience received its just recompense, 3how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? Announced originally through the Lord, it was confirmed for us by those who had heard. 4God added his testimony by signs, wonders, various acts of power, and distribution of the gifts of the holy Spirit according to his will. 5For it was not to angels that he subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking.
Hebrews, chapter 4:1Therefore, let us be on our guard while the promise of entering into his rest remains, that none of you seem to have failed.

Peace

Conversion is an on going process.

But the Year of Faith, declared by Pope Benedict, was a blessing to us. Coupled with the election of Pope Francis, I do think many Catholics have felt a reawakening of the faith that has lain dormant for quite some time. On the other hand, the media and society doesn’t look like it’s going to back down on the church anytime soon, if ever. It will only get worse from here, once the excitement over Pope Francis dies down. (JMO, but I have this feeling that they are going to turn on him in a way that they think we wouldn’t expect. But of course, we have seen it all before.)

We must be the light in the darkness, in our own lives and in little things. All those tiny battles are a strike against the devil.

Amen to that. If I can get those first two straight, it’s amazing how many other things fall into line.

Has anyone noticed that it seems the Holy Spirit is rounding up the troops. I do not know if it is just me, but it seems that a lot of cradle catholics are learning their faith with zeal and vigor. It seems to have started for me about 8 years ago. Is something on the horizon…soon?
I believe what we see is that our catholic culture, once upon a time, made it easier for us to be catholic which has been removed to a large degree. Now there is so much more communication with modern electronics that all sorts of ideas and religious concepts are being thrown at us, where this was not the downpour that it is now. So now we must know our faith if we are to survive against all the other poisonous ideas. Do we have a choice? Everyone is being bombarded whether they like it or not. So it seems to me not so much a choice but an absolute need. What is the other option but to get broken in spirit.

Just a thought.

“There is one Lord. There is one faith. There is one fountain flowing with the waters of re-birth.” (hymn)

Pray The Holy Rosaries daily in order to fully open up our Hearts to Jesus and our Heavenly Mother to become closer to God and Our Heavenly Mother, attend Reconciliation weekly or twice weekly, attend Mass weekly receiving The Holy Eucharist (The Holy Trinity), abstaining from rubbish in our Lives, asking our Families and Friends to do the same, in order to save our Souls and their Souls for the time when Jesus has called us.

It was not until a couple of years ago after praying The Holy Rosaries that when I opened up my Heart to Jesus and our Heavenly Mother that everything fell into place or like pieces in a jigsaw (another of Jesus’ creations through His Children), making sense of everything.

Vigils and the power of prayer through His Churches, unite us in the battle against satan/evil and gives Jesus the opportunity to work against the evil that has affected His Planet and Children. Getting Catholics in the hundreds back to Mass and Reconciliation like the old days growing up; is the best solution to many problems we all face in the world today. Prayers for this would get people back into Parishes and united in prayer which is powerful. I prayed for this recently.

The more people who open up their hearts as we all should know as Catholics, the more people (His Children) can be saved. Nothing has changed in this are the feelings I get through The Holy Rosaries (my relationship with Jesus and our Heavenly Mother).

Praying for all sinners and Peace throughout the World combats evil and allows Jesus to Intervene more easily fighting the evil through the Power of His Love and Peace.
