Is something remotely like this in the Bible?

Where does one find even a reasonable facsimile of the following quote in Scripture:

“Give Me no rest. Plead with Me night and day!”

Thanks for whatever help you can provide. And if you can send me an e-mail, I’d appreciate it.

Though not a direct quote from the Bible, your quote could easily be the instructions given to the watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem:6Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest, 7and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth. (Isaiah 62:6-7)
These watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem could easily describe the men and women in contemplative religious orders who pray to the Lord, day and night, on behalf of the spiritual Jerusalem, the Church, with little rest or no rest.

Your quote also reminds me of Jesus’ story of the widow whose persistance won over the unrighteous judge in Luke 18:1-8.

Try Jeramiah Chapter 2

Lamentations 2:18 -19
Cry aloud to the Lord! O daughter of Zion! Let tears stream down like a torrent day and night! Give yourself no rest, your eyes no respite!
Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children,

Nita
