I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on speeding. I don’t mean excessive speeding, obviously that is always very wrong. I mean keeping up with traffic and going around 5/10 kilometers over the posted limit.
The Catechism states:
2290*“The virtue of temperance disposes us to avoid every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, or medicine. Those incur grave guilt who, by drunkenness or a love of speed, endanger their own and others’ safety on the road, at sea, or in the air”*
Would this mean that all speeding is a grave sin?
Thanks.
