My son’s public school recently had a fundraising walk (on Good Friday no less) to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. A representative of the organization said they gave $17 million towards embryonic stem cell research for the most recent year they have records.
The JDRF does a lot of good things, but they also support embryonic stem cell research. Should I try to influence the school to scrap this annual walk? Or is this cooperation with evil too remote to make a fuss about it? Can anyone suggest an alternative organization we could support, perhaps one involved somehow with diabetes in some way?
