Is swallowing leftovers breaking the Eucharistic fast?

If you finish eating a meal more than one hour before communion, but then swallow some of that food that was hanging around in your mouth (say stuck in your teeth or something) less than one hour before communion, can you still receive? In otherwords, is the fast about the intent or the letter?
