This church makes wild claims of being allowed to be “autonaomous” by Rome in 1145 AD but how can this be? It makes no sense to me? Does someone have a clue about who these people are?

anglicanritecatholicchurch.org/faq.html 🤷🤷🤷
Yeah, “not Catholic” is what they are. They stem from the “Old Catholic Church”, and say things like “blessed with the gift of autonomy and independence”, which none of the other Rites enjoy.

Make no mistake, there’s only one officially sanctioned Anglican-style Mass, and that’s the Anglican Use. Accept no substitutes!

That says it all 😉

The question is not whether they recognize the Holy See, but whether the Holy See recognizes them (still). There may have been some obscure provision centuries ago, but what is the position of Rome on this group currently?

I always get suspicious when people start getting real technical about their allegiance and affiliation with Rome. If it takes more than one or two short sentences to explain to a layman, then they are probably outside the Church.

what about what they say that the holy see gave them autonomy in1154 ? if you look at the site you have to admit it is full of historical record…

I here you but your only posing a question back…🤷

Autonomy? I have never heard of an organization like this. It sounds like some reconstituted splinter group that is hanging onto some outdated provision to justify their particular aberration.

And their statement that the Pope is “first among equals” is an explicit denial of papal primacy. EO Christians say the Pope is the first patriarch among equals, but they are in schism. He is not first among equals, he is the Pope. He has immediate jurisdiction anywhere in the world. He is the Vicar of Christ, the Supreme Pontiff, and has the charism of infallibility when speaking ex catherdra on matter of faith and morals. He is not subject to any ecclesiastical law, only the moral law. He is not to be judged by any man, only God. No bishop has this kind of power or responsibility. They are not his equals.

If you want an Anglican style of worship, visit an Anglican Use Catholic Church or any church affiliated with the Anglican Ordinariate. As far as this group, pray for them that they may return to the fold.
