You guys have no idea how helpful this has been to my discernment of an event that happened a couple years ago. Answer me this, was Christ the sacrifice for all of mankind? Thanks, Tim
Yes, the perfect sacrifice we may unite our imperfect self to in loving sacrifice.

In the Living prayer of my life

The Jews are no more open to deception from the devil than the Catholics are. .
Code:
The Jews would be more vulnerable to deceit than Catholics only becasue we have the Holy Spirit to help us discern; a gift given to us by the the rite of confirmation…the Jews are not sacramental as we are.

My take on the elect are those that are ‘devout’ as opposed to those who only carry the name only, And if the devout can get deceived, how much more the rest of the world?😦

Yes I think you are right after reading what you have said.

In the Living Prayer of my life

We cannot ignore the teachings and the writings of the Church Fathers. They all say the AC is not a symbolic representation or an abstract idea. The AC is a human being who comes near the end of time to deceive the elect.

The ONLY exception amongst the BIG Fathers was St. Augustine, who said that Nero was the AC. He was the only one who said this. All of the Fathers must be in agreement, so this is generally ignored.

Anyway, the first who will be deceived, according to the prophecies of the Church Fathers, will be the Jews. The AC will be of Jewish descent and will be a false Jewish Messiah.

The other people to be deceived will be the Gentile peoples, including some Catholics. This will be some sort of religious deception. The AC will be granted powers of a fallen angel, so he’ll seem like … I don’t know … Imhotep in The Mummy movies.

Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwigg Ott says there are specific signs that must be fulfilled before the Parousia. About 2/3 to 3/4 of these signs are fulfilled.

Off the top of my head, the signs are:
  1. Tribulations the likes of which the world has never seen, both spiritual trials and changes in the earth, i.e. earthquakes, etc…
  2. A great falling away of faith directly related to the deception of the AC
  3. An end of the age of the Gentiles (that is, all the predestinate of the Gentiles is fulfilled).
  4. Universal conversion of the Jews as related to the appearance of Enoch and Elijah, the two witnesses, who will find the Ark of the Covenant and consecrate the Eucharist upon it. They come during the 3.5 year reign of the AC to oppose him.
  5. Revealing of the Man of Sin.
  6. The end of time comes sometime after that.
(For your benefit, I’ll try to remember to look these signs up tomorrow and post them here).

Now, according to prophecy, the biggest being Fatima, between number 1 and number 2 above is the Era of Peace governed by the Great Monarch in unison with Peter II.

With regards to the Era of Peace … it will come when the Ark of Salvation, the Church, is docked between the pillar of Eucharistic devotion and true devotion to Mary. (St John Don Bosco).

And we won’t have an Era of Peace until Russia is converted. I will not say whether or not I believe it’s been properly consecrated, but I can say that Russia is not a Catholic country and is not converted.

I mean, just look at her, for goodness sake! What is the statistic … something like 70% – or is it 90% of Russian women have had abortions. Russia is dying because they’re aborting their children, and I’ve even read that they’ve organized youth camps for the purpose of promoting reproduction!

Russia is in very dire straights. Alcoholism and drug abuse is rampant. It’s really a HUGE problem there. This country does not appear converted.

And as far as Communism dying … I don’t buy it. In fact, I came across a Communist Manifesto that listed, as part of a grand plan, a false falling of Communism, so as to take over a decadent West who’d grown complacent, thinking Communism dead. Could be just a conspiracy theory though … I will admit this.

Anyway, the key is Russia.

No conversion of Russia, no Era of Peace.

But … I did come across some information that the Era of Peace is non-conditional, that it would happen, one way or another. That is, Russia can be converted the easy way, through us, or God can force it to happen through the execution of Divine Justice. Me? I prefer the easy way.

So please, pray for the conversion of Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexy II, the only Orthodox Patriarch to oppose the proposal to end the schism with Rome. Pray for the conversion of Russia.

God Bless!

Don’t you say anything about the Jews, only pray for their conversion and pray that you nor I are ever deceived.
BlessedStar,

I don’t think anyone here is antisemitic.

Speaking for myself, all of what I said is based upon the writings of the Church Fathers. And when the Church Fathers all unanimously say something, one had better take note.

The Church Fathers say the Jews will be deceived first, only because the AC, by using signs and wonders and being of the correct Jewish lineage, will be mistaken for the Jewish Messiah. Jewish prophecy (I think this is Kaballah???) says the Jewish Messiah will come at the end of time. That’s one piece of the puzzle for their rejection of Jesus of Nazareth as being the Jewish Messiah.

So, please don’t accuse us of antisemitism when we’re just quoting prophecy that is of a reputable, traditional source.

Again, I have NOTHING against the Jews. In fact, I am next-door neighbors with practicing Jews. They are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I gave them some zucchini, and they in turn gave me gardening tips. I love Jewish people and I’m certain that most people here do, too.

In fact, I believe that it will be the Jews who will help the Catholic Church, at some point, carry her cross to Calvary. They are essential to salvation history.

Thanks and God bless!

Here’s a very good summary of the Church’s Traditional teaching on the Antichrist and Last days from St. John Damascene, 8th Century, Doctor of the Church and one of the last of the Church Father’s:

Note: the sentence structure is a little odd. This was written around the year 700.

St John Damascene says, "One should know that the Antichrist must come. Antichrist, to be sure, is everyone who does not confess that the Son of God came in the flesh, is perfect God, and became perfect man while at the same time He was God. In a peculiar and special sense, however, he who is to come at the consummation of the world is Antichrist. So, it is first necessary for the gospel to have been preached to all the Gentiles, as the Lord said, and then he shall come unto conviction of the impious Jews. For the Lord said to them: ‘I am come in the name of the Father, and you receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.’ And the Apostle, 'Because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: that all may be judged who have not believed the truth but have consented to iniquity. Hence, the Jews did not receive the Lord Jesus Christ and God, although He was the Son of God, but the deceiver who says that he is God they will receive. For that he will call himself God, the angel who taught Daniel declared: ‘He will make no account of the gods of his Fathers.’ And the Apostle: ‘Let no man deceive you by any means; for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, who opposeth and is lifted up above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God,’ he says – not, however, in ours, but in the former one, that of the Jews, for he will not come to us, but to the Jews (initially) — not for the sake of Christ and Christ’s, for which reason, also, he is called Antichrist.

The Gospel, then, must first be preached in all nations, ‘and then that wicked one shall be revealed: whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power and signs and lying wonders, in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish: whom the Lord shall kill with the words of his mouth and shall destroy with the coming of his brightness’…"

continued …

continued …

"… Thus, the devil does not himself become man after the Incarnation of the Lord – God forbid – ! but a man is born of fornication and receives into himself the whole operation of Satan, for God permits the Devil to inhabit him, because He (God) foresees the future perversity of his will.

So, he is born of fornication, as we said, and is brought up unnoticed; but of a sudden he rises up, revolts, and rules. During the first part of his reign – of his tyranny, rather – he plays more the part of sanctity; but when he gains complete control, he persecutes the Church of God and reveals all his wickedness. And he shall come ‘in signs and lying wonders’ – sham ones and not real – and he will seduce those whose intention rests on a rotten and unstable foundation and make them abandon the living God, ‘in as much as to scandalize (if possible) even the elect.’

And Enoch and Elias the Thesbite will be sent and they shall ‘turn the heart of the fathers to their children,’ that is to say, turn the synagogue to our Lord Jesus Christ and the preaching of the Apostles. And they will be destroyed by him. Then the Lord will come from heaven in the same way that the holy Apostles saw Him going into Heaven, perfect God and perfect man, with glory and power, and he shall destroy the man of iniquity, the son of perdition, with the spirit of His mouth. So, let no one expect the Lord to come from the earth, but from Heaven, as He Himself has positively assured us.

[GoldenArrow’s note: Enoch and Elijah are the Two Witnesses, who are killed by the AC. They bring about the great universal conversion of the Jews. Other prophecies say the Two Witnesses will lay dead at the foot of the temple for 3 days but will be resurrected and the whole world will see it (assume mass media) Also, I think the “spirit of his mouth” refers to St. Michael the Archangel, which other prophecies say strikes the AC down with a bolt of lightning when the AC tries to ascend to heaven of his own power].

St. John Damascene describes the Last Judgment:
"And so, with our souls again united to our bodies, which will have become incorrupt and put off incorruption, we shall rise again and stand before the judgment seat of Christ. And the Devil and his demons and his man, which is to say, the Antichrist, and the impious sinners will be given over to everlasting fire, which will not be a material fire such as we are accustomed to, but a fire such as God might know.

From Trial, Tribulation and Triumph Before During and After Antichrist by Desmond Birch. pp. 440-442.

This discussion is interesting. There are many references about him in different private revelations, books of the apocrypha, and the bible.

Though I personally think that the AC will be a man, I want to say that for this to come about, there has to be a strong AC “spirit” in modern society. In spiritual terms I think people and countries get what they ask for. If they ask for God they get him, by their life choices and practices. The reverse is true. I am sad at the presence of anti-christ cults like Sientology in America. I think that all the cultists will eventually follow the AC and be amongst his first followers because their “spirit” matches his.

So, in effect, if you want to stop the AC stop the “spirit” that gives rise to it. I understand the desire to know who this person is, but trust me, there are enough people in our lives who embrace the AC “spirit” that we have our hands full taking care of them spiritually through prayer, fasting, and penance.

I had a girlfriend who broke up with me. She told me I was too religious. Soon after I was having several dreams about her, all of which came true, often showing me the results of her disordered life. She was being sexually active with her short term boyfriends and I believe using the pill. I think her womb became a graveyard.

In any case, I have said countless rosaries for her and other things. I believe she has been helped significantly by them and I hope that the things she was doing have stopped. I had etremely disturbing dreams of a spiritual context about her and those have all stopped and I now have a sense of peace about her.

I have had my hands full just praying for my friends, relationships, and family alone. Also, fear leads to anxiety which is not good spiritually. Do not let your worries over an AC disturb your peace or your spirit. It is the AC who should be disturbed by your peace and your piety.

In any case, if I ever do meet the AC in person, I’m going to wack him on the head really hard. heh.

this is a link to a thread i had started about a fellow named Maitreya. he’s a pretty creepy guy.

i wouldn’t put it past him to be the actual AC. they are calling him “the Christ!” looking at the pictures of him makes my skin crawl. the woman who accompanied him in Nairobi (in the pictures) dressed in all blue… guess her name? Mary! and to hear the audio of his messages??? even worse!

here’s his very own website. well, the organization that is supporting him’s website.

shareintl.org/index.htm

you’ll find all the pics and audio and more than you want to know on his website.

😉 shame on you Benny Hinn! lol

but again… who knows. just a theory! there’s been more than a few for every generation it seems.

Yep, pretty creepy. At this point, after reading all the posts, I am so confused, I have no idea at what point in time the Anti Christ will appear. I would be skeptical to call him the AC but he is someone to keep an eye on. He’s pretty far out there.

Isn’t it prophesied that the anti-Christ will be embraced by the Jews and be seen as the Messaiah? If this is so, then the anti-Christ figure will have to be Jewish or he would be rejected by the Jews.

There is also some connect between anti-Christ and a false pope…it’s quite unclear, at least to my understanding. Does anyone have a deeper knowledge on these details?

Just for curiousity, anti-Christ will rise from Europe (the 10 nations) and since he will be Jewish, and if it is in this present time of his emergence, who is a leader of one of those nations that is Jewish?

Speculating…just speculating…France’s newly-elected leader Sarkozy is Jewish and is from Hungary. So far as is known, he is the only one…at this time. There may be others soon.

He will delude many, many people even some of the “elect.”

Kind of makes you want to stay closer than ever before to the Sacrament. Does it not?
Thank you so much for bringing to our attention that the newly elected president of France being “jewish” is quite possibly the anti-christ.You were very lucky not to be “deluded” like the french voters. Are his pro religion pro american views part of his being the anti christ or are they part of the delusion? How can we stop the "others"you mention? Do you think it might be a good idea to prevent other Jews from holding elected office in europe lest it turns out they are anti christs?

I’ve never read such stuff and nonsense about a book that is so clouded in imagery and metaphors! The Church says very little on it-if you look at the cathechism it is very succinct. Do not read into apocalypses that which is not there. Apocalyptic texts are vague, full of vivid imagery almost indecipherable . It is a biblical genre that comes out of fear, apprehension and hope. They were written in times of great turmoil when the world seems out of balance. “here we are the Chosen and we are suffering” The apocalyptic writer gives voice and imagery to these concerns and say “God’s in charge-everything will turn out all right- just hang in there” that’s Exactly the whole message of “Revelation” is. We get caught up in the violent imagery and get paranoid about it- and when we start reading into the imagery and who the Anti Christ is(not mentioned in Revelation but letters of John) we are treading on very dangerous ground. we can easily veer off into ideas and prejudices that those in the past had that have nothing to do with reality. Seeing the Jewish people as potential anti christs is ludicrious and wrong headed. Look up your catechism Golden Arrow. not St John - he is human dealing with human bigotry - the magisterium is where you need to get your answers from! For some reason a whole lot of catholics have gotten caught up in this " end is near" nonsense that Our protestant brothers are so hot on. Too many Catholics read the "left Behind "series and are mixed up with millenial garbage.- there is definitely an anti- intellectual element in our church that has been influenced by fundamentalists- whether they admit or not… Our own personal judgment is what we should be more concerned about- not universal. as far as the anti christ- sometimes all we have to do is look in the mirror-“we have met the enemy and they are us” Pogo

satan does everything God does to the opposite effect. You will see satan incarnate just as God became incarnate and you will see satan try to ascend into heaven as God did, but he cannot and then you will see God, Christ Jesus coming on the clouds of heaven which satan cannot though he will attempt to do everything God has done. God creates so satan creates destruction… God creates the world and everything in it and satan attempts to undo creation which will seem of benefit to man. God died and rises again and created the One True Catholic faith by which all may have life in Him, satan incarnate falls as if wounded (because he is not mortally wounded as Christ was but seems as such) only to seem to relive (for he is an illusion and is the father of lies) and be worshipped (for he will seem devoutly religious) and many are deceived by him, yes even the elect.
What if you believe you have been shown that satan has put forth his spirit over the earth? Meaning that in a “moment of clearity” you’ve seen sin as an “anti-holy spirit” that has reached to all corners of the earth. That in this mockery , the insult to God is that His own creations are destroying themselves by not listening to God’s own commands bringing about His justice. If there is a spirit already deceiving and blinding, where does that put us in the “manifestation” of the anti-christ? As you can tell I think he is already here and has been at work in people. So much so, I even question, is this final test and tribulation what ALL followers of Christ have to go through at some point in their life. Christ revealed that when He said in Rev 13:3 '…Fascinated, the whole world followed after the beast".Rev 13:14 It deceived the inhabitants of the earth…Rev 13:16 It forced all the people small and great… Nowhere does the Revelation of Jesus Christ say this generation or the generation to come or even some of the people. He refers to us all. Who/what is the ant-christ in your life? I write with no authority and this is a tenitive opinion I can’t seem to shake, so have at me. Tim

Just giving a summary taken from some christian prophesies…nothing more than that. This is not meant as a slap at Jews or any such thing. It is merely what we are to look for in the End Days. Nothing more; nothing less.

There will be a European coalition that will rise up and have great global power. The coalition will be comprised of 10 nation-states. The Apocalypse spells that out as a beast with 10 horns.

Jews still await the coming of the Messiah…no denying that point. The Messiah will have to meet some preconditions for acceptance; chief among them is that he will beone of their own.

If you are taking this out of context as a derision of Jews in general then you are being way too sensitive and way too self-centered.

Even the Catholic sector will be deceived with a false pope who will be in collusion with the anti-Christ.

I sort of enjoyed our exchanges on the other thread…very challenging. Good luck to you and yours and peace to all.

This scenario is strictly according to the highly questionable theory created by stringing together random verses from the Bible and declaring them (with no authority whatsoever) to be how the End Times will unfold. It’s called “dispensationalism” and is no more reliable than any theory any person might come up with who cared to do the same.

I wasted nearly 20 years of my life believing in it. As predicted date after date and event after event happened and still no “rapture” happened, I finally woke up to the fact that God hadn’t given the creators of this theory, or their followers, any special insights into this, but rather it was pulled out of thin air and has just about as much weight to it as a helium filled balloon.

Give it a rest. I am a cradle Catholic and there are prophesies that speak to the end times.

Just dismiss what I put forth…don’t have a conniption. Peace
