No one was allowed to touch it and if they did they would die. Once a year the high priest was allowed to enter into the chamber (the Holy of Holies) in order to sprinkle blood on the Ark for the Day of Atonement. He had bells on his garment and a rope tied to his leg. If he died in the Holy of Holies (no bells ringing), the other priests would pull the rope to drag him out from under the curtain. 🙂
The rope around the ankle or body was a myth; Scripture does not mention it, nor does the Halachah; and it would violate the laws concerning the HP’s vestments.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We’ll have to agree to disagree.
That’s why Fox News is number one, with more viewers than all the other News Stations combined. All the other News services are liberally slanted and bash conservatives. All five of the Obama scandals were on Fox News weeks before the other stations had to reluctantly start covering them.

How about Gosnell and Karpen. The media is blocking for the culture of death.

Yup, Fox News had those stories for weeks while the top stories of their competitors were covering Beyonce and dog yawning.

I think all the previous posters actually forgot that Indian Jones found the ark and gave it to the US governemnt, so it’s probably in warehouse 13!!
But seriously, this thread isn’t about who likes what TV station.
(We all know that the history channel is full of it. Gotta be honest though I do like that Ancient Aliens. I know its complete claptrap, but it’s always good for a giggle. )
But seriously this thread is about the fact that the Ethiopian Orthodox Church have had something for millennia which they think/claim is the Ark Of The Covenant. Now, it’s hidden away, and no-one is allowed to see it. - does that not fit the scriptural reference above, about it being hidden away for all time? Is it possible that the object they have is really the Ark?
Also, would God have allowed such an important thing that he dwelled within to be “stripped for gold”??

God bless

Paul

The EOC just won’t admit that the Israelis made off with it in 1984 🙂
