A number of forums have talked about same sex marriage but I do not remember seeing a poll regarding its increasing acceptence around the world. So, is the battle over and have the proponents of SSM won? Vote and comment please.

Not at all.
  1. Homosexuals comprise less than 3% of the population.
  2. Homosexuality is a self-extinguishing lifestyle.
Interesting how God’s design works huh?

^^ What he said.

Also, since the majority of the general populace is against same-sex marriage it stands to reason that the courts in CA simply hijacked the notion.

They are supposed to interpret laws, and not make them. Either way, it will likely be struck down in the fall, and those in favor of gay-marriage in CA will start crying again.

Not by a long shot in my humble opinion - in Ireland at least the “battle” is only beginning…

Hi all
In Norway they just made “equal rights” for homosexuals. This means that lesbians can get in-vitro-fertilization and homo-sexual couples have a right now to adopt children. Their “partnership” will no longer be called “partnership” but marriage. The church in Norway is still not forced to marry homosexuals, but it is allowed to. In my country, Denmark, this has already stirred up the debate again, and many politicians see this as a great opportunity to make way for the same laws to be made here. I am afraid this is a problem that has come to stay and it has never been bigger than now.

God’s design? Speaking of interesting, what a choice of words!

In the states where these horrible laws have been passed, POPULAR vote is always AGAINST it, but it gets pushed through legislatively anyway–totally disregarding the will of the majority of the people. If the people would actually band together and fight it, it could be stopped.

Yep, God’s plan is for one women and one man to be together in Holy Matrimony. That’s how God’s people progress from one generation to the next. It’s the culture of life.😉

Think about, you’ll get it.

The last numbers I saw said that CA voters would vote to keep SSM and not change the constitution. We all know that after CA comes NY. Then it’s only a matter of time before all other states follow suit. This one I would see as being trickier, though.

No even close, remember in 2006 all the state ballots for redefining marriage for the convenience of the homosexual movement were defeated. Even this situation in Cal. the people voted it down, it is just the judges that stripped the peoples vote away. In the Fall all this will get taken care of and the Gay and Lesbians will have to “live and let live” instead of trying to force the other 98% of people to unwillingly tolerate it. You’ll see.

Yes, but people here in CA get apathetic very quickly. The homosexual agenda is shoved down our throats so much that two years has made a huge difference.

Ah California… love the weather, hate the politics.

After having our votes dismissed by a tyrant activist judge, Californians like me are ticked off big time, and we intend to drag every voter we can to the polls come November. I think that this plan of forcing of homosexual “marriage” on voters is going to backfire and voters will support the constitutional amendment by an even larger margin than the previous propositions.

This is only in the Western world, there is no such gay movement in most of the world.
The gay movement is one of the main ways that Satan is assaulting the Western world. I don’t think that Satan can have any permanent wins in the world, since after all God is more powerful that Satan. As Christians, we should not give up such hope. If we give up, we may face the death of the West, which, I believe, we can prevent.
Now we face the dissolution of our institutions which gay marriage means when it comes to marriage and the family. With prayer and our efforts we can win.

No, far from it in fact. The battle is still continuing and thankfully there is still a chance to make sure that gay “marriage” doesn’t come to most states and there is the possibility of having an amendment passed defining marriage as between one man and one woman. I know that Bush tried this and failed but if we get the right people elected, it is possible that it could still happen. 👍

No, it is not over. Regardless of the outcome, know that we will be on the winning side.
Prayers & blessings

I see it succeeding in the near future…and that it is one thing that will lead to Christian persecuting.

ahhhh…hope springs eternal! 👍 Personally, I tend to agree with the person that commented on the overall apathy of the voters, and that scares me to no end. Because believe me, those in favor of SSM are going to be out IN FORCE. We need to have our voices heard…and not just on the forums!

BTW…what’s with all the CA politicians that label themselves Catholic and consistantly back sinful practices? UGH! Don’t get me started!!!
