Technically, the Catholic Church is not a denomination.
"Denominations" or names of different offshoots of Christianity started after the Reformation.
 
Being technical here but the Catholic Church is emphatically not a “denomination.” Denominations are groups that are “de-nominated” (named-off of) the Church.

Some Anglicans believe in purgatory. The Orthodox believe in purification before one may enter Heaven but they do not specify in detail how this happens.
