My fiance wants 2 have our son baptized in a catholic church, im ok with this but ive been told u cant have ur child baptized if u werent married when they were born. Again, im not sure if this is true so im just curious of the rules i guess. Wut is and is not allowed?

Hi,

That you weren’t married when the child was conceived would not prevent him or her from beng baptized. But you and your fiance will have to have been married through the Catholic Church in order for his father to be considered a practicing Catholic. And this IS necessary for the child to be baptized.
