Is the Confession valid if the priest doesn't wear a stole?

From what I have read, it appears that the priest must wear his stole during conference of the sacrament of penance. Assuming that all other requirements for valid absolution are present (for example, properly disposed penitent, and proper form for words of absolution), does the absence of the stole invalidate the sacrament of penance? Is the absolution ineffective?

The wearing of the stole is not required for the sacrament of Penance to be valid.
