Is the Democrat party moving toward officially supporting abortion?

Embracing abortion is in the rear view mirror for the Democrat Party. If they’re moving toward anything, it’s infanticide.

Sadly, speaking as a registered democrat, abortion has been part of their platform for a long time. Too long.

I think that group is the party itself.
It is. There are articles talking about when Joe Biden was newly elected and soon found out that as a pro-life Democrat he couldn’t get anything done, so he changed his position.
And that was decades ago.

Oh No! We just had euthanasia passed in parliament last week. The MP (equivalent of congressman) advancing the bill was given a letter signed by the Anglican and Catholic bishops of New Zealand against euthanasia. He then resulted to ad hominem insults against them.

He must have a very weak faith for a “Pope Francis Catholic” (which is what he called himself). He suggested that Pope Francis would approve of what he does.

It’s literally part of their party platform:

Democrats

Party Platform - Democrats

Every four years, the Democratic Party puts together our party platform, the ideas and beliefs that govern our party as a whole. What follows is our 2016 platform — our most progressive platform in our party’s history and a declaration of how we plan…

We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion
Exactly!

Which is why the Democrat Party is often labelled - The Party of Death

He made his choices LONG before Pope Francis. It was at least during the reign of Pope JPII if not before.

Joe wants to be a Catholic really bad. I don’t think it’s just to get votes either, I think he really does on some level want to be part of the Church. He’s been through a great deal of very difficult, terrible personal stuff. But when you hang around DC you begin to believe all that stuff about “Well, I can’t impose my morality on everyone else” blahblah. I know because I used to work in DC and for a number of years thought that way myself. I feel differently now in cases where people such as babies in utero are actually getting killed from “not imposing morality”.

John Kerry apparently wanted to practise the faith as well. He’s meant to be quite passionate about it.

Clearly not passionate enough to sacrifice some votes though. …

I imagine if JFK were alive today he would be a Republican.
Apparently, though, he failed to pass his pro-life beliefs along to his daughter. So sad. She could be a major force for change in the Democratic Party, but she isn’t.

From Wikipedia:

In response, Kennedy released a statement through a spokeswoman that outlined some of her political views including that she supported legislation legalizing same-sex marriage, was pro-choice, against the death penalty, for restoring the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and believed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) should be re-examined.[74][75] On foreign policy, her spokeswoman reiterated that Kennedy opposed the Iraq War from the beginning as well as that she believed that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital city of Israel.[76][77]

But it’s interesting that she is against the death penalty, and that she favors Jerusalem as the captial city of Jerusalem. Sadly, I think that these are enough for many Catholics to vote for her should she ever run. After all, according to some CAF members, “there are a lot more issues than abortion that Catholics should consider.” Sure.
