Is the destruction of Jerusalem AD 70 mentioned in Scripture?

Yes—just answered a very similar question here.

Christ doesn’t say he will return physically to judge the Sanhedrin insofar as I can tell—he uses the language of the Son of Man returning on a cloud. As noted in my post linked above, this very clearly evokes a repeated parable where Jesus speaks of the wicked tenants to whom the owner of the vineyard has sent his son and whom will be cast out for killing him.

The “Son of man” laguage comes from Daniel 7:13-14

"I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.
"And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and {men of every} language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed

The Son of man is coming toward the Ancient of Days, not to earth! He was publicly recongnized as the victor of the judgement of the Sanhedrin in 70 A.D., and the Kingdom was publicly given to the saints, as Daniel’s vision fortold in Daniel 7:27
What happened here on earth was just the by product of the heavenly reality.
 
Is it so important, really, Christ spoke of the end of manly expectation!
Worship of God through ritual and place is not the true worship of God!
It is not the Church it is the man who stands within the church and proclaims the life of God!!!
Stones? Places? The Kingdom of God walks within you, his power makes of your semblance a light for others.
Be not concerned for powerful places, his power lies in you.

Small consolation to the Sanhedrin, who had the misfortune of being in the place when judgment was visited upon them!

One cannot read Matthew, much less the rest of Scripture, and not see that certain places have a resonance with God while others do not.
 
this and only this, I shall come and you shall know I have come, not from the place of my appearing nor the power of this time, It is through my acts you shall know me. And this time may be as the son of God may be known. The infinite makes of us an act of returning timelessness to one true time. The act of meeting, the mind of God. The eternal bargain.
 
To walk in the steps of the saints may bring a sense of spirit and peace but I tell you, if you do not already know, there is a greater peace to be found walking amongst the dispossessed. there can be no real sense of place where pain is accepted as a reality of place.

Well, it was important to the early Christian community, which was able to escape Jerusalem before its total destruction.

I always thought Catholics, and I been presbyrtyrian the most of my childhood!! and I guess not non spirit??? LOl!!!, I thought The tradition of Christ, the legacy, the hope saved us from that which we seem about to do? Our society, our need, our hope?

Matthew is certainly beautifully written. Both in content and in form, it deserves to be considered the best-written works in the world.
