Not to take issue here but when an event is presented that took place in time then when it is re=presented it does take us to that time since His sacrifice was accomplished only once. So if the 2000 year old event is presented to us then it is as if we were there. One can say that either the cross comes to us or that we go to the cross but either way we are in that very event. Mystery comes to mind here.Re-presented means ‘to make present.’ While the Eucharist does not take us back in time, it does make Christ’s one sacrifice present to us. After all, time, like location, is an accident. Jesus has but one body, and it is that one body, and that one Sacrifice, which is made present to us. The Sacrifice, which in history is seen as temporal and local, is in fact eternal and and universal by means of the Eucharist.
