Is the Friday of Easter a day of abstinence?

Every day in the Octave of Easter is a solemnity. You need not abstain or do any substitute penance on Friday this week.
 
Yes, Easter Friday is a day of abstinence (from meat). Have some fish and/or veggies.
 
Code of Canon Law:
Can. 1251 Abstinence from meat, or from some other food as determined by the Episcopal Conference, is to be observed on all Fridays, unless a solemnity should fall on a Friday. Abstinence and fasting are to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
General Norms for the Liturgical Year and Calendar:
24. The first eight days of the Easter season make up the octave of Easter and are celebrated as solemnities of the Lord.
Obviously, therefore, abstinence from meat is not observed this Friday.
 
I’m going off of the older/traditional calendar. Evidently abstinence is not currently required on Easter Friday. Interesting!
 
I was also wondering about this last night and searching around on the internet a bit. Somewhere I read the comment that the fridays in octaves were NOT solemnities?? The person who wrote it might have been wrong though. Still, I couldn’t find a calendar that says exactly which days of the year are solemnities, including the octaves. Does anybody have a link? Or does anybody know if this person was wrong or right?

Every day in the octave is celebrated as a solemnity.
 
I also asked a priest after mass today. He said it is NOT a day of penance today. No penance today. 🙂 It’s still Easter!!
