The Impossible burger is vegan, so therefore it’s not meat so is most definitely permissible.

Agree with this wholeheartedly! But then again I’m a carnivore. The Impossible Burger sounds…really terrible to me. How about scrambled eggs or a tuna melt instead?

I’d rather choke down a capybara than this “burger imposter.”

And, yes, Virginia, you can eat capybara on Fridays!

There is a product named the “Impossible Burger” which is a 100% plant based product that contains a special protein they nicknamed “Heme” which causes the product to taste like meat despite no actual meat components.
If something looks like meat, and it tastes like meat, and you cannot tell the difference between the impossible Burger and a real Hamburger, then you are going against the spirit of the law of abstinence by eating it. By eating this type of product you are employing a pharisaical technical loophole enabling you to violate the spirit of the law to deny yourself of a meat product during these times of abstinence.
You have observed the letter of the law, but you may have violated the spirit of the law.

Back when I was in college, we had mystery meats.
One day, it was a meatloaf.
The next day, it was pepper streak.
The next day, it was s steak cutlet.
But it all looked like the same piece of meat. 😂🤣🤐

True, but not entirely inaccurate. Meat contains large amounts of nucleotides, essential for copying DNA. If you don’t get sufficient nucleotides from food, your body has to synthesize them from protein. Sperm production requires a substantial amount of nucleotides.

Yes, they most certainly are.

And they are kosher to eat on Fridays, at least in South America.

It has to do with the amount of time they spend in water; they are likened to amphibians (and reptiles), which may be eaten.

And so, you can fire up the BBQ and have yourself a rodent feast this Friday!
