Is the K of C just for older men?

I did my 1st degree on 9/23/09.

Met a great group of Catholic men.

I look to continue the tradition of Charity.

My DH crossed the Tiber in '93 but was reluctant to join KofC for many years. Last year he was suddenly moved to join 🤷 😃
Went through 1st Degree in Nov. 2nd Degree 2 weeks later. 3rd degree in Feb. And 4th degree in June!! Boom boom boom. He just turned 44 and is really looking forward to his involvement in such a fine organization. And you are right - what a phenomenal group of Catholic men he has met!

He also regularly looks forward to opening the mailbox and finding his Columbia magazine…🙂

I’m also 45 and considering. Can someone explain what the degrees mean?
 
The degrees represent the level of membership that has been obtained. I am not at liberty to discuss it further, but you will learn more if you choose to join. I encourage you to do so. I joined in 2006 at the age of 53 and it was the best move I could possibly have made. It is so enriching to participate in activities that help others. The blessings are wonderful. In addition, I very much enjoy the friendships that I have made and the ability to socialize with other men who value their faith and strive to live it. The Knights are for all men who wish to grow in their faith and to serve their Church, Community and Country.
 
“Not at liberty to discuss it further …”? Is there a lot of secrecy in the Knights, like in some of the more controversial organizations like Opus Dei and the Legion of Christ?

There really isn’t a lot of secrecy. The ceremonial aspects are not disclosed to the public, but there’s nothing controversial at all contained in them.

Explain what Degrees are.
There are four degrees within the Knights of Columbus. Each degree ceremony imparts a lesson on the Order’s core virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
I encourage any Catholic gentleman, old or young, to consider membership in the Knights. 👍

Nothing controversial with either group, except in the minds of those who oppose them or the Holy Father. Both are completely in union with the Church in every way.
 
Well, there is a difference between doctinal orthodoxy and being in a state of controversy. I would argue that the LC is definitely in the latter.

I’38 and a 2nd degree Knight. At Franciscan University of Steubenville, the college students have their own council.
 
The Knights are a fraternal organization open to Catholic men age 18 and above. They need youth as any organization does. One thing to beware is that it does not interfere with more important things in life especially your family.
