Is the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr a Saint?

Anglicans aren’t Protestants.

They most certainly are, in spite of the fact that some of them say they aren’t. As a matter of fact, the Episcopal Church as once called the Protestant Episcopal Church of the USA. Furthermore, I don’t know how one can read the 39 Articles and claim that Anglicans are not Protestants.

For example, both John and Charles Wesley are saints in the Anglican Communion.

But I don’t know if such people are really saints in the same sense. We don’t ever say “St. John Wesley”, but we do say “St. Augustine”. I think the only Anglican who has every truly been “canonized” was King Charles the Martyr.

I’m not sure how it works, but I do know that Anglicans venerate the archangel St. Uriel whilst Catholics do not, only limiting the veneration of the three angels mentioned in deuterocanonical scripture.

That’s pretty odd, if it’s true.

True, but one can be an Anglican and yet not believe in the 39 Articles.

I used to be Episcopalian. Trust me, John and Charles Wesley are recognized as saints in the Anglican Communion. They are on the Calendar of Saints in both the Church of England (5/24) and the Episcopal Church (3/3).

What I want to know is if you think that he indeed was a Holy person/ Saintly Christian akin to the Catholic Saints and Blesseds.

No. He wasn’t Catholic. He was not living a life of holiness which is a relationship one has with Christ through His Church. Saints are Catholic because they have demonstrated such a life. Also - he was an adulterer. Now, many saints have personal sin, but not being Catholic and having committed the sin of adultery with no access to the sacraments for forgiveness this side of death is a pretty big issue.

Did he, otherwise, do good things - yes. But he is not worthy of sainthood - either assumed or actual.
